Veg to Flower Question
Im growing under 18/6 veg now and plan to go into flower soon
Is there a time period i should wait before switching to 12/12?
Or like when should it be done?
Just when the lights go off switch the timer to 12 instead of 18?
Or is there some kind of period they need of darkness?
Is it going to matter really?
I think ive read something like 36 hours of darkness then switch to 12/12?

Veg to Flower Question
I have heard of the 36hr of darkness to speed up the time it takes for the plant to start getting buds. As for when to switch to 12/12, anytime after the plant starts getting alternating branches instead of straight across from each other. That is when the plant is sexually mature.

Veg to Flower Question
Well the answers are on the forum but pretty sure you can go to 12/12 -feel more than welcome to correct me people- but yeah just switch the lights to 12/12 thats what I did and so far its working. My lights come on at 11am and go off at 11pm.

Veg to Flower Question
I use two schedules only. 18/6 and 12/12. Nothing inbetween. No dark periods, no coddling or aclimating...nada.
Be aware, too...darkness may be something that some folks claim works. But in my garden...there is no need to add stress during puberty.
Plus, it's easier. Two rooms. One on 18/6, one on 12/12. At any point you decide...you can move plants from veg to flower. If sexing, you can at any point return them to 18/6. And there's no need to change the timers. (unless your area observes daylight savings time)

Veg to Flower Question
Unscientifically....with a small sample of on 5x...my plants have had less stress and shown better transition from 24 hours to 12/12, with three days of darkness between. (72 hours, plus or minus).
Although variability always exists....
-it could be I've been better at temp/nut management
- it could be different strains....
But I just did this...just took a pair of ladies out of darkness and I was pleasantly surprised they looked more vibrant and healthy after dark phase than before....
So your call. But day 1 into darkness =day one into Flower...by my count
