Why is it gettin to be so hard to find Vermiculite ? even the local hydro store has none here.. Any tips on a substitute ? really trying to get started before new years :wtf:

Hey Killa, in your last pic with all the little cuttings are they in Root Riot cubes then surrounded with perlite? I hope my Purple Wrecks look 1/4 as good as yours seriously bravo on the hard work. I hope to have supports for all the buds mine will make but I somehow can't believe things can look as cool as yours do, It seems so damn delicious looking at those pics! In your first pic of your last post how many plants are in that scrog?:thumbsup:

Those are Jiffy Pellets with the screen removed in regular hempy mixture(4 pts. perlite/ 1 pt. vermiculite).....and the sog is 22 plants in one gallon buckets(hempy buckets)!

Vermiculite is very hard to find! I ONLY BUY THE HUGE 4 CU. FT. BAGS which makes it even harder to find I used to be able to find it at the HD closest to you. (which was the only HD that carried it) Now they dont sell it anymore. Your not going to like this answer but i get my vermiculite in Homestead! The very last exit on the turnpike! Exit 1 there are 2 stores just west of the exit that sell farm supplies...They sell sell it for $7. for 4 cu ft....which typically last me a year! They also sell 4 cu ft. bags of perlite for $9....I usually buy 5 bags at a time...and it will last me a year!......I knew you wouldnt like the answer!

The close up on the small purple nug is for my buddy secrect to see.....With this strain....the purple will be present from the very start....these pics were taken on day 13!

Whatever it is,.. looks real interestin'. I only remember the one reference to that strain, I must have lost track somewhere.

Actually I love the answer...HD has been slacking the past few years but Lowes by the HD your talking about carries small bags they said :thumbsup: $3.99 a bag.. GOT TO LOVE ORCHIDS ...oh and i hope this saves you the long drive next time

Tons of stores carry the small bags but i think they are like 8 qts....ill take a pic of the bags i need they are huge! I would use one of those small bags per bucket per run would kill the price of a grow for me (30x4) $120 per run in just vermiculite! i get about 8 runs out of a large bag which is like total of $4-6 per run total (with the cost of perlite in the total) of growing medium which is like 30 GAL. of mixture! I like to Save as much money in growing as i can, considering i dont grow that much despite what people might think 1.5 lbs for 2 months is not that much herb to smoke! it cost me about $175 per run total for my grow including the cost of electricity so at the end of the day its worth it for me! Good luck on your search!

Anyway i look at it ...You will be seeing a 18Gal Rubbermaid with CFL and Hempys ..if that sounds familiar in anyway....

The good and plenty plant was a male....killed it....my friend has a great mom and ill run it soon! i just need to make room!

The pic is PK x PR f2......my buddy got 2 females out of the seeds which neither turned purple....i just wanted him to see what he needs to look out for to find a purple mother!

I agree 1.5lb ain't nothing for me! I can smoke easily a qtr bag a day if I wanted too! :thumbsup:

I wish I could smoke that much in a day, I usually forget I even started smoking after stuff kicks in and then my adhd works its magic and oh there is something shiney....and thus leaving an unfinished bowl..

Thanks for the info Killa, I should try to sog with that many cuts I think I would pull my hair out trying to make sure I am doing it right..

no luck at the lowes killa had 6 bags that could not be located.. but got spag. moss think that will work ?
