coffee filters are too fine. try food-grade SHORTENING or GREASE filter cones available at restaurant supply. about $9 for 50 10" cone filters. They're very worth it!

when you reboil the butter do the solids extract into the water each time?

would you think its best to do it 2-3 times to get all the bad bits out?

yes, if reboil, stir, then strain a second time, the water soluable chemicals and any solids left should go away.

each time you do the heating process, you run the risk of loosing the more volatil oils in the extraction, and damaging the thc and other beneficial chemicals.

personally, I'd only do it twice. for me I'm finding twice is enough.
