I've never sprouted seeds using rockwool, but I know you're supposed to soak them in water with a certain pH before using them. Could that possibly be the culprit?

Also, no extra nutrients until the plants have at least four nodes. It's easier than easy to burn such young plants. Soil can also play a big role in burning seedlings if there are a lot of nutrients premixed, but it doesn't look like those seedlings have dug all that deep into the soil yet. Also, be careful about how much flushing you do when they're that young, as that can invite a mold commonly known as "damping off", which is often fatal to seedlings.

If you're going to use rockwool, make sure you're presoaking the cubes in a correctly pH'd solution before adding the seeds. Again, I don't use rockwool, but if I remember correctly you want the pH of the cubes to be somewhere between 5.0-6.0. Or, if you wanted to skip the rockwool altogether, you could go out and buy a seedling starter mix that will contain little-to-no extra nutrients, and will sustain the seedlings until they're ready to be moved into more fertile soil.

Not a soul has said anything about the 400 watt mh that looks about 8 inches from the cups and one little fan? No fresh air? Those looks cooked from the lights, not the rockwool, nor the nute issues. Nute burning starts at the tips. Place your hand under the light after it's been on for a few hours, and find a comfortable spot for your skin to not be warming up, then add another 2 inches. Or just get a 4' 2 bulb t8 fixture at walmart for 10 bucks and a set of 6500k bulbs for another 10 bucks. make sure they are the skinny t8 bulbs. then wedge it in there. I have a 4'w X 2'd X 5'h closet with that same t8 set and some clamp on shop lights + some cfl's. when they get bigger, say....4-5 nodes, then set the MH in there. They'll explode in growth. Sorry to ramble.

how about some of those pellets they sell at osh could i use those, im not going to use rockwool lol. ill keep you guys posted

the little peat moss pellets work good, but save yourself some money, put your seeds in a damp paper towel, stick'em in a baggy in a warm dark place. or put a little water in a cigar tube with your seeds. in 3-7 days when they pop, place them in your grow medium.

What fluid69 was saying is that some people germinate seeds in paper towels, or through other methods, while other people prefer to plant directly in the soil (or pellets). You can germinate either way, just be mindful if you use paper towels to check for roots fairly frequently, because the taproot can shoot out from the shell quite a bit in just a single day and peeling the root off of a semi-dry paper towel can harm the seedling.

I actually use paper towels most of the time to germinate, and once the taproot is just barely visible (1-2 cm) I plant directly into the starter pots. You can use the Jiffy pellets if you'd prefer, just make sure not to plant the seed too deeply in them (roughly the length of the seed itself, covered lightly by soil), don't allow them dry out, and also be sure to gently cut the mesh netting off once you see signs of roots.

i think you could still potentially save those lil lemon thais with a flushing & hanging the lighter farther away if its MH. Provide good drainage & water after thats its all up to time and the plant.
