Yup, 22c-25c is optimal, it can go up to 29c during the day and down to about 16 at night. Any hotter/colder and the plant will stress and slow it's growth.

You can have and active exhaust and active intake, but the exhaust should be 4 times more powerful than your intake. This is because you want a negative pressure in your grow area to keep the odors from leaking.

Dryer sheets won't cut it. I'd say go with the carbon filter. Mount the filter near the top of the closet, and some duct going out the wall to your exhaust fan, which will pull the air through the filter. This is better than pushing it, which can cause an area of pressurized air between your fan and filter, and could leak odor.

If you get a switchable ballast for your hps, you can also use an equal wattage MH bulb with the same ballast. When you want to flower, just switch the bulbs.

Good luck
