Fox Farms Nutrients Question
Hey everybody, In the spirit of gaining more knowledge through others experiences, I was wondering if there were any good nutes/ferts/supplements that go well along side the fox farms trio. I am currently using tiger bloom and this weekend i'm getting some big bloom to add in. I'm just wondering for future grows and such. Also i would love to discuss soil mixes people have had success with. I am currently using ff ocean forest mixed with ff light warrior, but i want to try new things. Any and all comments and experiences are welcome, i'm just a new grower who really wants to learn! Thanks People!

Fox Farms Nutrients Question
My current grow is the first I've ever used the FF trio. I am also using FF Open Sesame so I'll make sure to comment in my log when the time comes. The Google search function for this site is quite helpful when it comes to 90% of your questions. The other 10% are all the helpful experienced vets who will answer your questions. I have learned a lot about growing this amazing medicine from these forums.

Fox Farms Nutrients Question
My soil is called Filthy Rich by Dr. Q. Already has plenty of castings and shit.
I've got the Cha Ching, and will continue to properly use it till it's gone, but won't re-order it again. Be real careful with any of the FF solubles...it's some very potent shit. Be careful when using it in conjunction with your normal nutes.
The plants show flowers eventually, so it's not worth the extra expense in my budget to get the Open Sesame, and I've never used the Beastie Bloomz.
I do use Soil Syrup (humic acid) twice monthly per directions, and Botanicare Sweet on occation. (but I'm not sold on the 'Sweet' stuff)
The Soil Syrup is one I'll always have on hand. With Fox Farms, you'll get minor salt build-up. I correct this condition with scheduled monthly flushes, (veg and flower) folowed immediatelly by a full-strength solution of the humic acid.
Even though Fox Farms Grow Big and Tiger bloom have your micro's, I still use Superthrive in veg. One or two drops per gallon, depending on plant maturity.
Be careful with mixing shit together. It doesn't always work out for the best.

Fox Farms Nutrients Question
I love the Fox Farm stuff, and agree the powdered solubles don't really seem necessary, and they ARE powerful concentrates ... I pretty much just use the Grow, Tiger Bloom, and Grow Big, and blackstrap molasses ... I don't experience the 'salts buildup' either, probably because I flush and re-new my solution every week-10 days, seems to prevent that from happening ... good growing

Fox Farms Nutrients Question
Should have specified that I grow in soil, as I have no clue about it's use in hydro.
After a few months of being open, I start to hear the salts conglomerating in the bottoms of the nutes when I shake the bottles, (no build-up in the Grow Big, though) and runoff ph will start to swing. Not wildly, but enough to visually catch your attention.
The monthly mini-flushes at a 1:1 volume of pot per gallons of ph'd water release any salt and nutrient build-up, plus the humic acid is great for the roots. (which coincidentally is to be applied monthly, per instructions)

I just happen to have around ten pounds of the stuff, and am slowly getting rid of it. (the Filthy Rich soil, and the Big Bloom already have castings in it)
Molasses is theoretically a bulking agent, as is Botanicare Sweet. Gives the plant 'usable' sugars, carbon, and various other elements, but you'll want to be careful with overdoing-it. Molasses can adversely affect ph, and can cause you more problems. Using it on stressed plants is not recommended.
Again...I've got it, and occationally use it on healthy underperformers...but am not overly convinced that it's necessary in a healthy garden. Opinions differ on this, so I expect some retaliation, lol.

Fox Farms Nutrients Question
Regarding humic acid...as long as it's a leonardite extract, almost any brand will do...but I use this brand:
Soil Syrup
Soil Syrup is 12% leonardite, Advanced Nutrients is 7% leonardite.
