Just want to say one thing about the laws and marijuana. If you say it'll never be legalized and do nothing about it, then you're right, it never will. Laws are made by people, and we, for the most part, are people, so laws are made by us.
Once slavery was legal in this country. Eventually enough people got together and said it shouldn't be so, and after a long struggle, it wasn't so any more. Once women weren't allowed to vote. Alcohol was illegal for a while, and you know how that turned out. Why should this be any different? Is it because people who like to get stoned are too weak, too stupid, too disorganized to stand up for themselves? Hell, I hope not.

You've got that right, RIP. I think one of the most formidible "vested interests" interfering with social advancement is organized crime, and crime in general. Though my Sicillian half cringes at the word mafia, I concede your point.
Is that a good enough reason to give up though?

Don't get me wrong man, I love the mafia. When the mafia ran South Boston, it was safe to walk through the streets.
I'm not giving up, it just seems like you can't fight city hall these days.
