Hi, I just transplanted two plants that were about 2' tall from hydro to soil. Mine were healthy though so they barely had any shock but yours might but still it is worth trying since it sounds like they will die if you don't do something... Anyway what I did was mix up soil and perlite in a bucket and added water until it was a little soupy. I then used something to partially covered the drainage holes. I then held the plant with one hand in the pot and used a bowl to slowly pour the dirt into the pot. It will take a while for the water to drain (hours) so you will need to do it outside or in a tub and be extra careful with future watering because of the slow draining. After you transplant leave it alone and only add water when needed for the first 2-3 weeks.
