I am a lesbian and I am proud to be who i am. My family and friends accept me and most of all i accept myself. I have a loving girlfriend who i have been with for over a year now. Im not going to lie i am totaly in love with her and if one day we decide we want to tie the knot.. its not possible anymore..

I think its cruel to take away peoples rights..

Straights have a 50% divorce rate.. their is no way we could make it any worse..

I agree, it's disgusting. This is what religion does. Ironically the people who want to get married are initiating a religious ceremony.
Nevertheless, if they want to.... if you want to, you should be allowed to.
Is it possible to just go to another state, get married and come back? I'm pretty sure it is. But that shouldn't really be an issue in a sane, rational, science based world.

Or maybe you could just put rings on each other and say you're married.
I mean, is there actually any benefit of being recognised, by an irrational state, as married?

Also, if you haven't I recommend you watch the movie "Milk". About the gay rights activist Harvey Milk. I recommend it to all the gay people I know. Which is one not on the internet lol

Marriage is over rated... If I want to live with someone the rest of my life and love them, I don't need approval from anyone or any government. I'm straight and I side with both views. Marriage really is just some paperwork that has some legal/tax/insurance/monetary benefits. I think gay couples should be given the same rights as straight married couples but I don't think it makes it ok to change what our constitution defines "marriage" as. Love whatever color, sex, religion you want. This is like the abortion issue, I can understand both sides.:hippy:

I agree that marriage is nothing that special and mainly a legal issue but I think it is crazy to restrict that from gay/lesbian couples if they want it. Can't we just get over it already? I'm all for upholding the constitution but the constitution can be and has been interpreted in all different ways.

the only reason they ban same-sex marriage is because of religion. religion is big biz in america. what if that religion doesn't fit your views though? some people believe marriage is just a legal binding document, while some believe it is the union of two people under god.

i don't know about you but i know no god that would condemn you over love. and i fear no government that will impose their views on the masses.

the true meaning of religion is to be a better person. yet people have been twisting and skiewing religion since it's inception.

how do they say jesus' birthday was december 25? it clearly states in the bible that jesus was born in march. could it possibly be because the two gods of the two major religions before christrianity both had birthdays on december 25th? it's much easier to get people to go along with you if there is a level of comfort involved.

i find it funny that the worlds (possibly) first known homosexual was also the first person to have the belief of montheism (from ancient egytpt, can't think of the name at the moment).

if you want to pronounce your love and be as miserable as everyone else and have the same benefits of marriage, then go for it!!

this is the most ignorant thing i've read on this topic in a while. i myself take pride in being a gay man in a relationship that will be three years old on wednesday.

Multiple people? Animals, siblings? You act as though being gay is like being a different creature -- since when is homo hooked with fucking dogs and your brother? We live by the same exact rules and laws as you do, we love, we fuck, we love to fuck -- SAME as YOU. It's not like we're outside some privelidged fucking boundary that only straight people belong to, you thick headed know-nothing.

Why do you care so badly? They arenâ??t going to hurt you in anyway. It's a person right to live how they want to. It's exactly like cannabis, government says NO! Fuck the government, itâ??s my own body and I will choose what I want to do to my own body without putting anyone else in danger.
