This is what happens when the government buy's private companies. GM news.

General Motors announced their new plan in order to increase consumer confidence.

    1. They are offering equity protection when you trade your car in. The problem is, cars depreciate as soon as you drive them off the lot. They will be losing a lot of money this way, cars are not houses, cars only depreciate in value (unless you have a classic car, which we aren't talking about.)

There site advertises, "There's a reason you've never seen this before. It's never been done before."

There slogan should be, "There's a reason you've never seen this before. It's an idiotic business proposal and any company not funded by the government would never have implemented it."

It's never been done because it's a horrible business decision. You can't make money by giving people the difference when they trade a car in.

    2. Payment Protection- They will pay your car note for up to 9 months (up to $500 monthly) if you lose your job. Again, losing your job is a risk you take when you purchase something like a house or car.

We are now shareholders in this company thanks to the Obama administration and they are using it as a socialist pulpit. Who do you think is going to actually be paying for unemployed workers car notes and the difference when they trade their vehicle in? The taxpayer!

Either that, or they will simply go bankrupt, and our "investment" will be entirely lost.

risk has become unacceptable. personal responsibility is a matter for the individual and the individual is rapidly becoming extinct.

if a ron paul type candidate isn't elected to congress in 2010 or president in 2012, we can go ahead and give up on freedom and capitalism.

After ousting a corrupt administration it takes a while to get the wheels turning again!!!

Bush Cheney sunk this country to the bottom, it will take a bit to re inflate things so we can float again.

    If you don't agree!!!

Post 1 good thing Bush Cheney did to help the country!!!

That doesn't have anything to do with the topic. I also didn't like Bush although I didn't think he was a terrible president.

    1. We haven't been attacked since 9/11/2001.

    2. He eliminated a murderous dictator from power in Iraq. (Regardless of if you agree with the war, you can't deny Saddam killed his own people and was a vile dictator.)

    3. Some tax cuts.

Things I don't exactly view as positive but you may:

    1. Increased funding to fight aids in Africa.

    2. Signed off on the first stimulus package.

I think he was far from being a good president, however to assume he didn't do anything positive is ludicrous.

I tried twice to address this point.
It was a bad night 4 the site, or ME!!!
I even had something to say about ludicrous, but it don't sound right now.
So I will just start with your #1 point.

K, I got 3 daughters in the Air Force, I got 2 son in laws in the air force, I got 1 soninlaw that is a seal .
    K, we attack Iraq
$ why I got no real idea.
Today!!! out of the 6 kids i mentioned, only 5 are still alive.
    Yet, they have offspring.
Children who won't see , MoM or DaD again.

    You decide which parent died!!

I just think it is bull shit to loose anyone, in a war, that had nothing to do with 9/11

That has nothing to do with what I mentioned. I'm sorry for your loss, but did they not realize death was a likely possibility when joining the military?

We attacked Iraq based on bad information, however, all signs suggested they had nuclear weapons. Several different reports around the world also said Iraq was holding nuclear warheads, not to mention the gassing of his own citizens. Not to mention he was funding Al Queda.

With that said, I think your son or daughter gave their life for a noble cause.

However you asked me to mention one positive thing Bush accomplished. You have yet to agree or disagree with the rest, and regardless of the fact you are angry about the war in Iraq, you can't argue against the fact we have not been attacked since 2001.
