Calling out to DreadedHermie for a game of "stoner chess"

And that, is what I mean about playing it out.
1st impulse is, to save the bishop's ass, yah?.
Bad impulse!
That move would give you 2 pawns.
Worth, nominally, 2 points.
To save a bishop that is worth about 3 points.
That "about" is important here.
Giving up the bishop, evens the points total, for white, but it also retains tempo, and saves black's hopes for promotion while hampering white's.
Well worth the extra point, because;
A bishop is good, But those pawns are now potential queens.
(Points are how a computer values pieces.
Q = 8 R = 5 B = 3 Kn = 3 1/4 P = 1 at the start of the game.
The worthy algorithms shave the points according to position and investment, but it's still about points.
Human thinking factors in potential value as well.
The bishop will never be worth more than 3 3/4 points.
Those 2 pawns are a potential 16 points.)
Now, is when black must use his time advantage to push his pawns and gobble yours up.
Keep that in mind when you ponder this;
R -Q2
Sorry li'l bishop c'est la guerre.
This is where playing it out gets easy.
The next 2 moves are predictable with some certainty.
Proud of ya padawan, ya done good!
Now reach out to da dark side, :vader1: we have cookies!
ciao fo' now

R x B.
Tried it last night but hit the "server busy" window.
The next moves are not so "predictable" to me, though. What's next?

P.S. Finally got some frosty-looking buds goin'. This plant is 15 weeks into flower,and this strain (the weak, but pleasant indica-type bagseed) was equally slow under a 400 hps (sigh). Except after 15 weeks of hps heat, the plants were cooked, and seemingly "worn out" from all the transpiration. You can imagine what the soil was like after that time, too. So I never could get anything goin' that was visible to the nekkid eye under HPS. I know it doesn't look like much compared to all the pedigreed genetics out there, but this really proves leds for me. Couldn't do this with hps, at least not in this heat. (Turned the leds off and hung a cfl droplight overhead for the photo.)

For 15 weeks,you should have fatter colas regardless of the "frost".
I've got to send you some better seed, brah.
Just cut the smallest cola from my HIhomie and it's over an oz. freshly trimmed.
Very sparkly! Quite aromatic, and just touching the stem turns one into an instant gecko.
Snaps in my album.

Why, P - KR3 of course
Are you starting them in small containers and then transplanting as they grow?. I'm sure it was harvested after a "normal" flowering time and thus was immature and leafy. I guess what I'm trying to say is: unimpressive as this stuff would seem to anybody with quality genetics, I'm pleased to have gotten it to this point. (Long maturation period notwithstanding.) However, all suggestions for improving things further are appreciated. :thumbsup:
Also, (excuses, excuses) until just recently I had only a Procyon and my 6+2 covering 5 x 2 ft. That's not as much light as I'd have liked. :sadcrying But I wanted to do an "all led" run for the team! (That plant Oldmac asked about was part of that group.)

:smokin:"Okay, but you coulda moved P - KR4 instead, and threatened my rook. P - KKn3 next move reestablishes your chain. Not sure why P - KR3's better. "
Because, KR4 would risk letting your passed pawn, (KB4) through,
Right now it is a bigger threat than your rooks.
If you liked that, the next move will loosen your socks.

You're up early. Maybe I can exploit your drowsiness...
imp:
P - KB5
Gives me a place to run, and advances my pawn a square.
Question: If you were to advance your pawn to KKn4, is this where capture en passant is valid? (I'd move to my KKn6, as if you'd only moved 1 square (?))Need advice wth plant problems?

Ooh! Bad move!
I was going to sacrifice a rook to get you to move that pawn so I could go
Kn - K4!
Which neatly forks your rooks.
We can redo those last two moves if you like.

How about R - KR4? That stops the forward motion of your pawns.Need advice wth plant problems?
