I can block with a knight, which is then protected by the king. But that undoes development of the knight.

I think retreating the king is better move.

    How is K - Q Kn 2 (in the short term) ?

    Thanks, Hermie.

It's a little worse than that.

    Better is relative, yah?

    How is K - Q Kn 2 (in the short term) ?

    Thanks, Hermie.
    That's the logical move.
Not great, but the knight interpose would be a terrible move!
    'cause...
The king is forbidden from entering check, and Q1 is covered by the rook and the bishop.
Black would capture the knight with the bishop and skewer the 2 rooks, winning a knight and a rook while putting the king back in check.
    End of game.
So, your last move was forced, and, this, you are not going to like either!

    R X Kn. (Q2)
    Ouch!
    No worry though.
By my accounting you won this game a few moves back.

    This is just instructional puttering.

And, should you move the other knight, the black bishop is still poised to steal a rook by occupying Q1.
In effect, still pinning your remaining knight.

    Why?
Because, at this stage, that knight is your only hope.
    Why?
Well, rook on rook is a direct attack.
A knight can attack both rooks, or a rook and a king with a fork through indirect attack.
Direct, vs. indirect, is an important concept.
It's part of what I like to call, "attack geometry."
If you think on it long enough, you will see the possible patterns as an overlay.
    There is an attack pattern.
    There is a defense pattern.
    It is a beautiful sight.

    This game is about tempo.
The next, hopefully, will be about openings and strategy.

Hope you are having fun here.

It gets easier, and more complex,
    as concepts sink and sprout.
    Then, all at once, epiphany!
    I figured dis game out!

    Made me "cry fo' happy".
    Made me jump an' shout.
But ya gotta get yer hands wet
if ya wants ta catch a trout.

Crap. Went back and forth so much I forgot about R x Kn. And somehow I had your bishop at B4, not Kn5, so I wasn't even considering (aware of) the double-teaming of my king.

You've gotta get that bishop to K2 (not Q2) to line up on my rooks, though, unless I moved them, too. Coulda happened. :stoned:

    Need to reflect on this....:rastasmoke:

That's what I meant earlier about effectively pinning that knight.
Your knight is covering white's K2
If you move him, black will reply with Bishop - your K2, (my K7 and win a rook.
If that WAS check, you might have a shot.
    But it's not.

    You got,
    maybe,
    a better move,
    think rook.

But it was check, if I wanted to continue in that silly direction. (Are our boards the same?) You coulda got out of it easy, then I'd haveta move my knight back to protect the rooks, so why bother? I'll think of suppin' else when I get a sec. Still behind schedule. BP's still good, tho. Amazon's running a week longer than expected. I thought the delivery date seemed over-optimistic. Sorry to read of your loss. Care is in order; assholes don't always stay onna outside. I've used red 5mm leds on all kinda old lectronic junk, powered with batteries, to simulate wireless surveillance cameras. Stick 'em all around. Actual wireless cams are pretty cheap these days, too. And Stinky's been back, of course. I know this seems disjointed. I have no time for paragraphs. Damn. Sorry again for the loss. Please be careful. Hermie

    Prolly not!
My sweet li'l kitty dove from the bed to the board and scored a strike! Not one pin standing.
    No problem though.
Post your version and we'll play from there.
Either way, you do have a better move.

    Thanks brah.
    Gonna be alright.

Yep actually had one on the lanai when the first girl got snatched.
Had the recorder turned off though because I was home, so was the dog!
I could chain my dog to the pen, but. O.M.'s story chilled that idea.

So, I've ordered a car alarm and a solar charger for the battery.
It has a proximity detector and a "pre-chirp" warning when approached.
I will use the pre-chirp to toggle an electric fence driver hooked to the cage.

When they go home and get mom's playtex gloves. The motion and shake detectors will, alas, wake me, and my neighbors.
I've talked to the neighbors on all sides and they will know what the racket means.

For now, I've moved the remaining girls to the lanai outside my bedroom an hung bells in the branches.
Strung some fishing leader in the yard, also with bells.
Had 4 Squeakeys that were left-over from da dog's chew toys.
Laid them in the grass by the back gate.
If they step on 'em, it'll wake my wee beastie from rem sleep.
    Cheap buggah, ain't I?
Just hope I don't have to hurt anyone.

too. And Stinky's been back, of course. I know this seems disjointed. I have no time for paragraphs. Damn. Sorry again for the loss. Please be careful. Hermie

Mahalo nui loa! But ya shouldn't have.
    I din' get you nuttin'.
The wife found me one of the 1st out models. 100X, no screen, yuck!
Trichome CU pics were so fuzzy, I was embarassed to post them.
Then this high-tech version arrives, Yeeha!
Da wife says, 'tell him he' take mo' betta care of you dan I do."
I said, " I do doubt dat! You da bes' wife I got."

Good t'ing you were out of Baklava, brah!
She might have gone into a baking frenzy. (Real competitive, dis one.)
Gotta go read da manual for I try any serious photos.

    Thanks again my fren'. :joint1:
Now ya need to figure out a safe way to receive some "Hi. Homie" seeds.
So far, it seems immune to the bud rot that dogged the Shiva Kush, (least that's what my friend called her,).
That was the first girl to go missing.
Had to pull her under the umbrella at the first scent of rain or brown rot was assured.
Lost Homie II to what looked like a virus that entered a wound.
Homie I. looked, and smelled wonderful. She got ripped-off.
But Homie III, smells like skunks humping grapefruits and has 8 colas the size of my fist!
Took a "sacrificial limb" couple days ago.
Trimming made my fingers so sticky that I could pick up a pint bottle of water by pressing 2 fingers to the top of the cap, had to wash with alcohol to get un-gecko'd
Preliminary results on potency are also quite promising:stoned::thumbsup::thumbsup:
    Now, it's about style.
If I can fend off the rustlers for another 2 weeks, it should be the kine high you were looking for a while back.
