Hey, cdot "stopped responding" on my end and I couldn't post. But I can't get your rook from Q2 to KN1. That would also put me in check (?)

    R - Q2 check
Maybe I got this wrong. I put your rook on my Q2. (I have your king on your Q2.)

    Dang bubble. :stoned:

This game, is a work of art.

I wrote a long explaination last night, but da forum got hinky and ate it.
On the third try, I guess I kept it too short to be understood.

    That there, is my KR.
Jus' put it back where it was, Q7, and move my QR from QR1 to KN1

(A few posts back, I warned ya 'bout dis one. "Either road, My next move is QR - KB1")

I'm tryin' to protect my only pawn on a black square at KN5.

Figured you might attack it and give check in the bargain.
That would make me put my king where I'd like him to be anyway, but I no wanna give up dat pawn.

(That's what I meant by the "free ride" hint.)
Jus' a li'l side-step in da plan, man.

I'm presently using da KR to cripple both your rooks and harrass your king.
Jus leave da KR on my Q7 while I mug your bishop wit' my QR.

Are you seeing the poetry of the game now?
I was trying to show how to BEST use a Queen.

Most books advise holding her in reserve and then un-leasing her power on a sparsely populated board.
You brought her out early, so, rather than take her and leave a partial lesson. I neutralized her for many moves with a knight threat.

Your queen was seriously under-employed by having her strength squandered on a static threat.

(During that time she had time invested for her development but had less power than a bishop.)

Then I traded my queen, for your gasoline.

Then used that gained tempo to avenge my queen and hammer your king.

    It is a risky business.

If you lose momentum in da middle of a coup,
it does not go well for you. - W.:asskick:

    Hint;
Grab the lead from white, and run with it.
You can still win this game if you manage that.:hippy:

    Darn good bubble, I'd say!:stoned:
Pharmaceuticaly, we were on da same page last night, and da post crosses got confusin'.

Dang! I like the quick play though.
(Train of thought and all for several moves)

I moved it to KN6 instead 'cause a black bishop is so confused on a white square, yah?:giggity:

That helps, thanks. Every time I threw her in early da sharks chased her. I figgered if she just putta toe in da drink...

But she's so valuable it's a bargain for your opponent to sacrifice virtually any piece, and some combinations, to take her. Hard to defend against a sewer-side attack.

Sorry, I shoulda been keeping up on the diagrams / pics as well...things were actually going good until the temporal deck started getting shuffled..but I got that new 'puter and half my crap's plugged into it, half into the old PC. Inconvenient till I get things settled in better. The only internet access is via the "work" computer 'cos Goddess needed the router in her lair.

    Darn good bubble, I'd say!
Goddess turned into Queen Elizabeth for awhile, but she changed back, so I guess mine's not THAT strong.... :abduct:

B - KB5 check! And, yeah, I miscalled that other bishop move, too. :stoned:

Better to immobilize, than capture her.
    Usually less expensive too.

    But the real lesson was.
Most opponents can not resist a queen sacrifice.
Even when they know it must be bait.
In this case, it set up a harmless looking pawn gambit.
