Back from canada!

I have a few questions for canadians-1)why do so many retail stores in canada close so early? 2)could i move to quebec city without learning french 3)why is the highway system in montreal so crappy? 4)why are people in the quebec province better-looking than people in the US? 5)why on earth did I waste 2 days in ottawa? 6)Does canada have a queen because i could have sworn that the tour guide in the parliament building said something about a canadian queen. I guess I could have looked up the answer to the last question, but I'm too lazy.

1)laws are different everywhere in the world, our retail times suck, deal with it

2)You could move to Montreal without learning French, but I think it would considerably more difficult in Quebec City.

3)I ask myself that everyday. Do you mean planning and shit, or do you mean quality? I think the highways are ok planning wise, but the 5.4 billion cracks and potholes really bother me...

4)Because 2/3 of the American population is overweight, and because of genetics. In cities like Montreal, the huge number of immigrants makes for an extremely diverse gene pool, and people of mixed ancestry generally look better than others (think of supermodels, so many of them are Mexican/Brazilian/Italian/Egyptian/Philippino/British/German/Russian, or other such combinations)

5)because Ottawa is a black hole of boredom and despair

6)Wow.... I really don't feel like explaining that one...

Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy, which means we have our own Constitition and technically any law which is passed must be inspected by the Queen (in our case the Queen's representative, or Governor General), but the Queen doesn't really care about Canada. Since our Queen doesn't really have any real power we are actually a lot closer to the American system of Government than you'd think.

the hardest part was going to the museums and trying to soak up 300 years of canadian history, when you dont know anything about it. I guess I have to read up on the history of a country before I visit it next time. All I know about history is that the white man killed everyone he came across, or made them slaves, and that he's always viewed everyone else as inferior in some way. I guess that will suffice for now. ok, ok, i'll admit that was oversimplifying things a bit.

Specially the jazz fest! I was there for last years (25th b-day) it was awsome!!

I sugget to everyone that has never been there, like to go to europe but dont want to spend an arm and a leg doing it... GO TO MONTREAL!!

Dude, you think the highway systems are hell over there? Try driving in Edmonton, the infrastructure is terrible.
