    pruning during flowering?

anyone have any input, or first hand knowlege on trimming off bottom 1/3 of plants 6 weeks into bud, to increase airflow and increase top bud size?Wondering if it will affect or stunt plants?

    pruning during flowering?

I personally wouldn't cut anything that isn't look like it's dying off...Only because cutting too much can stress the plant specially in flowering that late....I have heard of people trimming off ALL the fan leaves like the last week or so to increase the air flow around the buds to help dry them a bit quicker, but I personally don't cut off anything unless it's dying. If you need to just tuck them under other foilage. But I'm a n00b still myself imp: so i'm sure there is someone lurking around here that will say different and tell ya to do it, LoL so, as I tell everyone I give my advice to....It's all only food for thought!

well, the reason why the fan leaves at the bottom of a plant go yellow or start to die is usually because the budding plants tops are drawing the nutrients, (because the flowers are more important to the plant), aka the top cola of the plant.

Removing leaves from the bottom theoretically eradicates the amount of nutrients that can be pulled from the plants lower leaves.. but if those leaves didn't get a lot of light anyway, the air flow could be worth it..

Yeah i dont think it affects them. I trim my fan leaves at the top and bottom, if the top ones are blocking light they come off and the little airy buds at bottom come off so all strenghth goes to main buds. Just experiment, you wont kill it and you will find how you like them to grow. I have recently started topping my plants and i get double yield as i get 4 main leads. I know the fan leaves feed the plant, just dont go over the top. :rasta:
