    Pre-Employment tested 10 days ago

I was recently tested over 10 days ago for a state position in which I haven't heard any results of the exam yet. They said they would get back to applicants after 10 days or so to setup appointments/interviews etc... My question is if someone failed their test are they required to notify you in any specific amount of time?

No they probably wouldn't contact you. I would wait a few days and then call HR and see if they have a start time yet. Just act excited about going to work, don't mention the UA.
The government is notoriously slow, so give them time.

Usually if u fail the test u get notified by the doctor or person in charge of analyzing the results pretty soon. In my experience when I wouldn't get a call back after a week or so I was in the clear. Just my personal experience. Hope it helps.

Thanks, yea I don't want to be obvious about anything calling up. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with state type tests, dot, etc.. if you fail it says your basically screwed for any other job in the state? Was wondering about out of state or military, will they look at that?

There was a lot of good info on the "drug testing forum" section about DOT standards and stuff. Check it out it may have some usefull info.

Thanks, I figured it might take a day or so for them to get the results back from the lab for everyone. I was figuring if I failed I would have heard something the previous week especially if it came up diluted which could have been a possibility, but heard nothing the following week. They said they would get back to people about their secondary interviews/etc after 10 days or so, so I'm hoping the next time I hear anything it is good news.

Just for the record, I don't do it a lot, I took 3-4 hits 2 nites in a row (besides that last time I burned was a few bowl rips during the superbowl, and once or twice around new years and never more than 4 or so hits), found out about the test pretty much 2 days later after I last toked. I stayed clean for 8 days, took some gnc liver cleaner the 3&4th days, and tested on the 9th. My at home tests came up with faint lines, I took one test on the 8th day early in the morning 1st void of the day and got a faint line, and 2nd at the end of the night after I ate a light dinner and the line actually looked fainter. I got some crap at GNC that the dude suggested, 1 were the Qcaps I took the night before and urinated a good couple times before bed, and the 16oz q drink which i urinated once before consuming, followed the directions and drank a good 32 or so oz of water after consuming the drink, urinated 2x real nice before my test once before I left the house and once around the block from the site at a McD's before I arrived to the site... they made us wait awhile before our actual UA but I was tested roughly 3.5/4hrs midstreamed it. The drink that said it took an hour to kick in + it would work for like 5 hours. I've heard from friends that they've drank their drink the night before and still passed the next morning so IDK I'd think that the drink works longer than 5 hours possibly. I'm 5'10, 160lbs, great metabolism, barely ate anything in those 8 days leading up, exercised lightly the first couple days, drank a lot of water/cranberry juice... hoping things work out well.

Yeah you should be fine. Sometimes the problem ends up being (like u said) that the sample is too diluted because of all the water and stuff. I hope all goes well. Let us know how it turns out.
    Peace and Love :hippy:
