Advice/Recommendation

Hi All,
I am after any advice/recommendations for a first time grower,I have read loads of threads and seen plenty of advice in the forums but perhaps there's too much advice ,so I am after recommendations specificly for my own set up.
I am about to build a grow cabinet in my garage,the size will be approx 2ft X 4/5ft and about 6ft tall.The 2 main questions I have are -

1. Will a 250w be sufficient or should I go for a 400w light,and will a grolux type lamp be ok for veg and flowering.

2. What type of grow system is best for beginner a NFT or DWC, I was thinking of NFT originally which looks simple enough to run but on some threads I have read people are suggesting DWC is the easiest system for beginners.

I will be fitting an extractor fan and ensuring good ventilation in the cabinet so the only other questions at the moment would be what number of plants could I grow and what strain would be best to start with.

One of my bro's does real good with a 250 hps. If you want to use the light for both I would look at the new horitlux blue bulb. It has way more blue for veg and way more red for flower in it's spectrum. 2x4/5 it depends on the system you run. I could just fit 3 ten gallon tubs in there with either 4 / 5inch netpots or 6 / 3 inch netpots in each tub. That's 18 and you would get about 2 foot plants in the 6 foot tall room. They would be bubblers or dwc mostly the same thing.

Heat will be your main enemy in that space. The water need to stay around 70 degrees. The strain is up to you, northern lights, whitewidow, lowryder. I go with the most potent and short flower period.

hey guys,i do nft myself never tried anything else and i did find it easy ish to get all hicups ironed out but to be honest it really pisses me of not being able to move plants about,for best light on a smaller plant,removeing males,growing differant strains etc.i'm thinking of converting my table into a drip system useing the same over under res and table it's so annoying.

i agree totally i changed over to a duel spectrum 600hps for this grow and i seem to be getting a lot better branching.
i am a little concerned about your cab size 2'x4'or5'x6'.hight seems ok its just i think you may have trouble spreading a 250ww,400w over 4'or5'.to me a 3'x3' would be a better fit.i don't actually have any experience with them sizes. i only know i just manage to light up 3'x5' with a 600w.but i do have my light pretty low (10" off tops).
