My guess is that the breeder didn't back-cross the strain, so you are seeing two expressions...one from the original mom, one from the original dad.
Not unusual or unexpected...happens all the time.

Back-crossing is a technique used to stabilize desirable traits into the genetics. If you cross indica plant A with sativa plant B, you'll get a small variety of different expressions from the resulting seeds. Some will be stretchy indica's, some will be squat sativa's, and some will be a combo. Back-crossing helps to resolve the genetic wanderings.

Choose the traits that most resemble the strain you are trying to continue, or the strain will no longer be the same as the one that you purchased, and genetics can degrade. (an oversimplification, but hopefully the point isn't lost)
