Do my clones look healthy?
Hello everyone, this was my first time cloning. i clipped these clones 13 days ago and i think they are starting to root, one of them is showing more signs than the other. i clipped two health tops of a buddha strain at a 45 degree angle, then shaved the outside layer of the stem off using a razor, and split the bottom in two, just a litle it think i should have cut it more. I then dipped the bottom in RO water and rolled it around in a cheap root tone (powder kind).I then placed one in a party cup with Black Gold soil and another in a dixie cup with Black Gold soil. I placed them under a 5000k 55w (250w equal) 3600lumen CFL with a fan blowing a very gental breeze on them(they aren't in a dome but i spray them as much as i can.) also my temp is a little high at about 85 degrees F w/lights on. I have four questions.
1. Do they look healthy? the leaf stems on the one in the dixie are redish purple and the tips of the leaves are slightly yellow. ( maybe due to the high temp)
2.the one in the dixie cup seems to be rooting a little bit better, would the size of the cup have anything to do with that?
3.how much should i water? every 2 to 3 days or when the soil is dry on top?
4.Will having my temp 5-10 degrees higher hurt them or will i just have to water more?
thank you any advice is apreciated.reworgallirog Reviewed by reworgallirog on . Do my clones look healthy? Bags or 2 liter soda bottoms are fine. You'll want to offer limited light anyways. Don't ever blast clones with regular-strength lighting. It'll kill 'em. (raise the lights)
I'd cut-back the leaves too. Everything that hangs-over the cup edge, should get cut, right at the cup edge. (cut the large leaves in half)
Less moisture loss, and still allows growth and energy absorption. (needed for root growth) Those leaves will look pretty shitty in a week or so anyway, at which point they are a serious detriment to the clone's life.
