    Long time no grow

What's up everyone it's been a while since I have been around here or raised the beauiful life cycle of my favoite female. Life Has been one he'll of a ride for me over the past few months but the postive side of things is I find out later today if NH pasted HB 648 medical marijauana law. Well if all is well with it I'm going to be assigned my wife's mom caregiver( even if not she wants me to grow it). Well my point is she has sever arthrist and spinal issues and she's always doped up on oxycodon HLC and valum so spring is here and I want to know what a good strain is to treat this. I want to know a good strain(s) for indoor and outdoor is to help ease her pain. I am in the mist of setting up my indoor space. Outdoor grow will be on our deck and it gets direct sunlight all day but I don't want a monster growing off the deck. LOL that would be awsome. So thanks for you time and keep them green thumbs sticky.

    Long time no grow

So the strains I'm growing are white rhino and purple haze. Now I'm gonna be growing in a cardboard box with 6 23 watts cfls. A 6 inch online fan taking my air out and I have 2 vent holes at the bottom to bring in fresh air. Now my mesurements of the box for now are 17 5/8 inches long x 26 1/2 inches tall x 13 inches wide. Now I have done a semi box grow before but this is going to be out of the reach of my dog and it's gonna be placed in my boiler room. Now were my concerns are is I know purple haze grows tall but I want to try it in my box. Now I know I'm going to have to mod my box a bit as the life cycle goes on in the plants life cycle. So were I'm stuck at is can I keep the plant short by L.S.T. To make it more bushy then tall? Also if anyone has grown P.h. Indoors what was the hieght that you grew in to. Also a thought about scrog for it inside the box would that work to keep the hieght down while I also double my yeild? I will post picks soon. Thanks for the info from one green thumb to the other.

That box sounds too small, even for one plant. I am also limited by space. I did LST my first grow and liked the results. I am in the middle of a Scrog grow now, and so far so good (but the final verdict is still out, probably won't try it again if I don't have to). Scrog is kind of a pain in the ass, but I figured it was the only way to fit 2 plants and my light and filter in my closet (22.5" x 22.5" x 67.5"). Also, 6 x 23w cfl's will give you something, but with proper ventilation you should be trying to get as many cfls in your grow space as you can, maybe something like 8 x 42w cfl's...

Good luck and keep us posted

Well now since that's cover can I start my plants in the box while I am working on another box. So what would good specs be for flowering my plant? My last box I had it had eyes and it was huge so I really don't have enough room as of yet to have something that big again. Now my other question I have is I also have 2 75w metal halide blubs I have used from past closet grow I did before but my concern is that they get hot. For my ventalation I have a 6inch fan I bought from homedepot a few years back and I have vent holes in the bottom of the box to allow for air flow and should I use them along with the cfls?. Now is this enough ventaltion for the beginnig stages of the box I will use to start the plant in. When I find out the sex I plan on cloning. Thanks for the help!

Good questions... trial and error is the best way to find out. As for the size of the room, well, as big as you can make it. Build it yourself or buy a used closet with flat white walls like mine. Here's a good link about grow room setup:

I don't have any experience with small MH's... sorry. It's all about lumens, so the more lumens per square foot, the bigger the plants and the buds will be. I would aim for 5000 Lumens per square foot, or more. Also having the correct color (Kelvin #) for veg and flowering will make a difference. Since you have them already, try them out. But if the temps get high, get more cfl's instead. A couple more good links to answer your questions better:

Thanks those semi helped but was good knowledge to take in. Now the amount of space I have to work with in my boiler room is 24 1/2" long X 23" wide X 3 1/2 feet tall so I hope that helps with those mesurements on what the final box demensions I have to work with. The box is going inbetween our boiler and the central air unit. So I also found some flat white paint in the basement. Now will the white paint help absorb some of the heat along with making the light reflect evenly? Also your train wreck grow was amazing. How was the smoke from it?

    Sounds much better.

Should help with the temps, but it is the best in regards to reflectivity; better than mylar.

Now I was just brain storming about possible using the smaller box for veg and the bigger one for flowering. Now do u think this would work in my case of limited space? Now another thing I have been wondering at the height of the box I have now with 6 23w cfls would that keep the plant more dense in the begging of the veg state? Each 23w cfl puts out 1600 limes so if my math is right that's 9600 lumes. Now from what I read that should be more then enough for the veg state and flowering. Thanks for the time and knowledge.

Yes, go with white paint over mylar (flat is best) The reflectivity is bit less but SO IS THE HEAT and you will be wanting to cool things off.
Got any pics of what you are growing?

That White Rhino wll drop your jaw to the floor, your butt to the couch, and all thinking stops. I was still able to drool however. That stuff is MAX couchlock imo.
