Following Barry Cooper's advice... on leds and fluorescents
First post here. So hello everyone
I've been growing for about 2 years and in this time I've used cfls for vegging and hps for flowering.
Soon I'm gonna build a new steath grow room which will be 1 - 1.5 sq.m
Have you seen Never Get Busted by Barry Cooper? He advises people to use LEDs + Fluorescents instead of HPS for safety concerns. And he basically says that he's talked to quite some growers who realized the combo is no worse than HPS. And at the same time I find the idea really good as even though you have to spend a lot of money you won't have to use cooltubes and real loud fans (noise is the main concern to me as far as stealthiness goes) + you get LOWER electric bills.
Need your thoughts on this!
I'm thinking of either getting a LumiGrow or 2 x LightBlaze / Procyon
My question is what's the best way to supplement it with fluorescents?
Should I use CFL or T5 and what spectrum?
Also Lumigrow's LED's colour can be adjusted so take that into consideration too.
Thanks :hippy:
P.S.
Don't tell me that LEDs suck and to use a HPS!nu4aaa Reviewed by nu4aaa on . Following Barry Cooper's advice... on leds and fluorescents First post here. I have a grow log going using a Ufo+board+CFL check it out. not sure if the spectrum is right on my cfl but I kinda figured anything that covers the other spectrum's at all is probably not a bad thing. its a 68w cfl it says its comparable to a 300w its bright and the plants seemed to really like when i added it. Good luck with the led grow. if you decide to put up a log I'll be watching.

And th lumigrow with 5w diodes and 660nm reds would be the better choice-higher wattage diodes penetrate the canopy further-I've also found the 45w glow panels from sunshine systems to be invaluable for side lighting. The procyon from what I understand only use 630nm diodes.660nm is essential for good flower development.peace
