Okay well I have a four week old plant under a 26W CFL, I just have some questions to ask. Does it matter if I use water from the tap or should I be using some special water since my city puts in floride and other stuff in our tap. I also have another question about ventilation, now when the term ventilation comes in to play, I really have no idea how I should go about ventilating my closet. its a walk in closet of course, but itsjust a grow room now though. SO if I can get any advice, I also have a pretty cheap budget...so im trying to keep the prices at a minimal.

I'm a newbie too, but as far as what I read you really dont want to use straight tap water because of all the crap it contains, but they say mostly about the Cholrine in the water. This can be fixed by leaving the water out room temp for 24hrs. Personally I have one of those Brita water filters on my faucet so I use that and don't have any problems. The ventalation i'm not so sure about but I have my grow in a closet. I just leave the door open since I only have a few plants growing. The air circulating through my apartment takes care of that for me, plus I have central air/ heat. So it pushes the air around my plants pretty well. So take what I say with a grain of salt cause like I said I'm a noob too, but this is just from my experience with my grow. Hope it helps!!

Also on the ventilation question, you could get a small oscillating fan and put it in the back of the closet blowing out of the closet so you would be blowing hot air out of the grow area. Also, you said your using one 26W CFL, you may need to upgrade to a couple more AT LEAST and remember to keep them a couple of inches from the tops for max efficiency. My first grow I pulled about and ounce and half off 2 plants under 7 CFL's so I would def. upgrade to a few more lights! 6500K for veg and 2600 for flower, but I'm only on my 2nd grow so I'm still a n00b really, but I did pretty well my first time....Just food for thought though!

Take some time to look around the boards and the different sections, especially the stickies at the tops of each section...

You want a cool white (around 6500k) for vegging and a warm white (2600k) for flowering.
If you are using tube type fluros, GE Kitchen and Bath 40s work well for flowering. For vegging, the "el cheapo" shop light tubes work just fine!
For CFLs, you just have to read the package and hope they have it listed somewhere. I found some small straight tube CFLs at the Dollar Store that are bluish and nice for veg- if you get a mess of them. Walmart had some big, cool white, "curly" bulbs that were more cone-shaped than most.
The usual "curly" bulbs are usually "warmer" and will work for flowering.
Now get reading! Start with the stickies in the grow section!
