    Need Advice in Washington

I am new to this site and happy to have discovered it.

I have had several spine surgeries and have chronic pain. I'm okay, I exercise and do yoga, which helps, but I still have a lot of trouble sleeping and even staying focused sometimes. After not having smoked pot for over 20 years I decided to try it. Surprise, surprise, it helped me. And I kind of liked it, too.

I want to approach my doctor with the idea of medical marijuana. Can anyone provide me with a cheat sheet to bring my doctor? I know him well and seriously doubt he has ever done anything like this. He's a good guy, I can have pretty much anything for pain I want. I just want to make the process of prescribing marijuana as easy for him as possible. I suspect he'll try and keep me on conventional meds, but I prefer pot over narcotics.

    Please advise if you can.

Just take in the form and give the explaination you gave here, some private doctors will gladly sign, some not. Corporate doctors like Kaisers will never sign, against corporate policy..

Yeah I know of one doctor that prescribes MMJ because he used it personally to combat the effects of chemo. But then he was shit canned from the medical group that he belonged to and had to go back to private practice. So it can be tough on some doctors. I would just discuss it with him first and see where he stands on the issue. If he feels its not medicine offer to bring in some of science reports on the benefits and see if you can change his mind.

Hi Art, I also live in WA. I heard of a place in tacoma. I found this in one of the free classifieds you find at gas stations called the Little Nickel. It's a Fairly large ad taking up four columns on the second page. Here's a rundown of the ad:

    MEDICAL MARIJUANA
If you suffer from the following conditions medical marijuana may be able to benefit you:

    *Pain, severe, or intractable
    *Chron's
    * Hepatitis C with nausea or pain
    *Severe nausea
    *Appetite loss
    *Abdominal cramping
    *Anorexia
    *Muscle spasms
    *HIV
    *Epilepsy
    *MS
    *Seizures
    *Cancer
    *Glaucoma
Call 1-888-378-0425 $200 evaluation fee. no hassle. no waiting. subject to medical records qualifying you parsuant to RCW 69.51 A

This guy showed me his card that they helped him get. For you it might be better to save the 200 bucks and ask your doc, but if not just send your records to this place and it's pretty easy. Good Luck!

I can't post a link but if you check out Street Safe Co-op, you can download a brochure from Americans for Safe Access and mmj and pain.

Physicians in Washington State can not prescribe MMJ!!!

Take a look at our state laws.

    GOOD LUCK!!!
