Take your temperature, if you have a fever, you may have an nasty infection and they come on fast: for all the previous reasons!!

Until you see the doc, do exactly as Image told you, dilute the Peroxide. Like a teaspoon to a half a cup of distilled water. You don't want to get ride of all the bacteria in your mouth or you'll have other problems!

Be Extremely Gentile, as he said!!! Slight swishing: Your socket may not be open and dry: Sometimes you just get an infection. Infections are very serious in the mouth. They may go directly to your heart. However, uncommon--it can happen.

Use edibles or shotgun and share the love!!

In the future, if you do have a fever or feel pretty sick--go directly to an ER. And say what you were told!
A difficult extraction can hurt like hell for a while. The tooth is so embedded in the bone that some 'roc' the tooth back and forth, etc. and sometimes it will even make a small chip in the jaw bone-which can also hurt like hell! I haven't had that problem, but have seen it.

Have someone look in your mouth and see if the clot is in it or not-it doesn't take a scientist for peace of mind!! It does take your dentist though!

For a dry socket they often use what is called a "blood patch" to fill the hole and hopefully, you don't have that. At any rate, you need to make sure. Follow I/R's advice and I doubt you'll get an infection. It remains a cause for concern for you. Good luck and let us know how it works out??
