son/t lamp.

hi i got an old street lamp off a spark i know and i was wondering does anyone know if i have metal halide or hps ballast. the bulb says son/t on it. could i use this light to grow it has 150w bulb in it. any ideas guys.

Well think if they were replacing them they are

A.] Either no good.
B.] close to the time they are bout to burn out
C.] They are good and park wanted to blow extra money
D.] You mysteriously came across them, An hurried away to not be caught.?

But i mean i had got some from a park they were redoing an they were not all to good. Did not seem as bright they was spose to be. An burned out quickly.

i work for a firm where these can be got ya know so this one that was in a container which looked fairly new i asked could i take it. it has an ignitor an capacitor on it. is this all part of the ballast.
