firecrackers... fail!

so i made some firecrackers today and i was wondering if someone could please tell me where i went wrong...

i put enough peanut butter (jiff) just to cover the crackers (town house). put a very small amount of butter mixed in with the peanutbutter. sprinkled ground .5 on each cracker. sealed it in tin foil. baked for 25 min, 320F. i had two and i didn't feel a thing. any ideas?

how long did you wait? Activation in your body takes an hour or so..

well we did it about.. 10 hours ago. pretty sure it wouldn't take longer than that haha. i think i might actually give these another shot tonight. i'll let you know what round 2 ends up like.

dont nuke it, its called nuking for a reason :P damages things with water in (i know some scientists that conducted a survey in the path of water in a microwave... they wouldnt eat food put in one afterwards lol.. kinda makes you wonder doesn't it.

Don't put the sacred weed in there, man lol

I did once and it caught fire, was my last bud too



haha yeah nothing after 10 hours you are definately out of luck.

i guess the best direct way to test an extraction is smoking it, but sometimes that aint feesable is it ;D not when its peanut butter haha

Yes... usually weed is not completly cured, so it has some inactive cannabinoids (THCA) in it. Microwaving it (or heating it) transforms this inactive cannabinoids to THC (the active one), thus increasing the weeds potency. This effect is specially noticeable in freshly harvested bud, schwagg/mids, and any weed that wasnt completly and properly cured. Sometimes the increase in potency can be VERY great. There are a lot of threads about it... if you want more info, search "decarboxilation".
(BTW, doing this before smoking also gives good results... the high becomes more sativa-like [mind high].)

Anyway... it may not be the cause of failure. Did you eat them with an empty stomach? Cause eating weed with a full stomach usually doesnt work. Also, it isnt everybody who can get high from eating weed... i dont know why its so, maybe some people cant metabolyze the THC orally taken... also, the high is different from the smoked one, its onset is way slower, so many people actually gets high from eating weed, but doesnt notice it cause the effects are way subtler...

I think making weed edibles is a bit of an art, and its a bit tricky too, so dont be disappionted if your first try were a failure... sooner or later you will succeed... :stoned:

ooh, so that was most likely the problem? it would make sense. i tried making them again last night but i fell asleep after an hour or so. round 2 = fail, haha. sometime i'll have to try microwaving them a bit before baking. thanks alot for the help!

Fire crackers are a waste more tiems than most. I recomend just making butter, and tryig that in your recipies
