the problem with too neem oil is getting too much on the plant. It tends to fill in the breathing pours on the leaves.

It's a fair repellent, but that's all. Only cuz it tastes and smells nasty. bugs throw up and keep on sucking.

Avid miticide (used on organic gardens I believe - but I may be wrong) I believe also kills thrips.
