First Grow Experiment: Building a $120 grow box
no worries bigleague. most people around here don't mind offering advice as long as it's heeded and you ask "good" questions, meaning you did your research but might not grasp it etc.

First Grow Experiment: Building a $120 grow box
Just got back in town. had some good growth while I was gone. I added nutrients today(a little less than a table spoon). The nutrients I have are these little brown pellets. I mixed them in the top inch of soil as instructed, Then Watered. Here is a picture of the plant right after watering.

First Grow Experiment: Building a $120 grow box
sorry guys I have intentions to post at least once a week but got distracted with other things. I love to see people are still interested and maybe you can help since I have come across a few problems.
The first picture is what I meant to post last week but never got around to. Everything was going quite well then.
The second picture is the downfall. Leaves drooping, a little yellowing but only on bottom leaves and the first set of real leaves almost dead and slightly brown. I have no clue what is going on. The plant is drying out before watering, with an average watering of once a day. There seems to be plenty of light packed close around. Maybe it is the experimental nutes? they were 10-2-8 which was unusual but they are slow release and this problem came about quite quickly. I doubt there are any bugs on my plant. I have looked and see none and Haven't used anything from outside. The best solution I can think of is to flush and repot. Any ideas? Help please!

you SHOULD NOT be watering once a day! this is way too much. you need to let the pots dry out pretty good before you decide to water. a good way to test this out is to let the pot dry out nice and good (it should feel dry at least down to the second knuckle on a finger when you stick it into the soil). you can also use your index finger and thumb on each hand and grab the rim of your pot. bounce it up and down just a bit. you will get a feel for when she's full and when she's empty.
no one can tell you when to water, as it depends on many factors (lighting, heat, plant size, pot size etc. etc.). i can assure you that once a day is too much.
get to know your ladies. and don't freak out every time she sags a bit. just put into effect all of the things that you are reading and learning on the forums.
remember, especially with a first time grow, people have a tendency to baby their plants. or in other words, most problems are the growers fault!
do you have a pH test kit? if so what's your pH?
hope this helps.

thanks shake. I'm not positive that my friend waters everyday but probably close to it. I will tell him to water it less. Usually when I check the plant though, all the soil is very dry. I mainly am just "freaking out" because I Don't want the rest of the leaves to die. So should i do anything else beside lessen watering? Should I not re-pot it?
PH for my soil is always very alkaline, usually around 7 when I check it. I will check again soon and post results.

how big is the pot that i's in?
if it truly is bone dry everyday, then yes, you should re-pot.

Yeah seems to be bone dry. The pot is about the size of a small coffee cup (maybe not as tall) it's about 5 inches tall Id say.

if it get's that dry that fast you need to transplant. it should at least take a couple of days to dry out.
