My clone' root rotted. I think.

My first attempt didn't go so great. It kind of got limp after 5 days. Today I saw that the base of the stem had shriveled up. When I took it out of the jiffy7 the entire stem that was in the peet was shriveled up and brownish. When I started I peroxied the water and used damp off as well but alas....
Cloning seems harder then I thought. Any advise for a first time cloner?

I can help you.

Forget jiffy xx, rooting compound, willow water, etc. The secret is to leave your cuttings in plain water, in the dark, or at least in a shaded area, for a couple of days before exposing them to lights. Then wait a long time for the roots to appear.
