Need some opinions please

My girlfriend, and I use to smoke every day.. We have 2 kids. But both work and are good parents.. We usually only smoke after the kids go to bed, and we just sit up, watch some TV, and smoke a little. Well last year we decided to quit together.. Well, I just found out I was the only one who quit. My girlfriend has been going to her moms and hitting the pipe sometimes.

My girl doesnt go out.. she doesnt drink.. She just hangs out here with me and with her mom. I was pretty pissed that she lied. And I told her if shes going to do it, I only want her doing it here with me, and noone else.. She agreed to not do it behind my back anymore.

My problem is I always thought girls who smoked weed were trashy, and slutty... I was raised in a strict family. Im trying to get over this, because I know shes not.. Should I just let by-gones be by-gones, and join her and go back to our nightly "routine"?.. I love smoking, it helps me chill. I just have this thought that if we smoke, we're automatically bad parents. But I was ok with drinking, and when Im drunk Im way more messed up than I am if I smoke...

Im sorry to ramble, I just cant talk to anyone about it.. And I figured I might not be the only one in a similar situation.

( Keep in my mind my fiance is a great person... I hury my leg bad, and was off work for a year.. She supported me and took care of me, and got me everything I needed )

Well... if you like to smoke, do smoke. You said that you only smoke after your kids are sleeping, so youre not influencing them. And if your smoking habits doesnt impair your parenting life (like skipping work to smoke, or neglecting your kids to smoke, or dealing, etc), then there isnt any reason to think that the mere act of smoking makes you a bad parent. Its only the result of years of brainwashing by the government and media.

If you were a daily smoker at one point why do you hang onto the notion that smoking cannabis is inherently wrong? And as far as your future wife goes, how can you have that "smoking is for sluts" sentiment? Just trying to figure out the double standard.

Anyway, if she still wants to smoke, that's fine. I'm sure you are in no way pressured into picking up the pipe again. If I may ask, what was your reason for quitting in the first place?

And you aren't bad parents for smoking weed. If you were the type who put pot before your kids I might be inclined to state the opposite. You said it yourself that alcohol makes you more "messed up" than weed so the only justification for such a statement is the simple fact that weed is illegal, that's all! Being responsible parents comes before getting stoned, but I have a feeling that won't be an issue for you as you seem like a responsible individual.

What does it matter what gender you are? Just because girls have another X instead of a Y doesn't mean they turn into hussies when they take a rip.

you seem like such a conscious minded person.. you're actually worried about your own perceptions - so what this means you are thinking about how you're thinking, this is good for mental health At least you aren't fooling yourself..

I know what you mean... re the middle classed perception women who do any drugs must therefore be somehow "loose in the mind" therefore "loose in the bedroom" is quite stereotypical

I know what you mean about I want her to smoke with me... that sounds like you more wanna protect her from getting too doped hah.. I'm sure she'll be fine dude.. I'm so sure you'll be fine too I'm not gonna say anything else.

I smoke, family doesn't, it is a private habit, for me personally. I grow it right in the yard, and if done well blends right in and no one ever would suspect. I am not twenty something, but just turned fifty. I am an old hippie, and enjoy getting high. I don't need to smoke with anyone, I just blaze and go. By the way half my family is Islam, and you know they are not hip on women blazing. So in order for everything to go pleasantly I keep my secret well hidden and blaze away. Honesty is overrated. :stoned: But than again I am totally blazed right now, so don't hold anything against me at this moment, just telling you how I roll. :S5:
