You kids are so dang spoiled! We "old hippies" were raised on kiloed Mex dirt weed that contained stems, seeds, leaves, and buds (and occasionally the roots, too!) And we smoked everything but the roots and seeds! (skip the stems- ain't worth it.)

Leaves will get you buzzed and are better than nothing! Get a microscope and LOOK at some leaves- they have trichs! Not half as many as the buds, but they are there! Heck, even some MALE plants have enough that they can give you a respectable buzz- just depends on the plant.

You do NOT want to "sneak" leaves off your plant, while it is growing. That will cut into your harvest later. Leaves feed the plant, every leaf "stolen" will decrease the amount of bud produced. Go buy a bag instead.

Now that I grow, I dry the leaves and blenderize them to make some nice "magic muffins" for the hubby's pain problems. Edibles are quite effective.

The bud at the very top will be the biggest. Secondary buds are at the tip of the branches, with even smaller ones next to some leaves.
