Lets do this shit
So the decrim bill failed in the house, senate whatever. Washington has an initiave process though. And I'm curious why no one has thought to go this way towards legalization or decrim. We have mutiple hempfest type rallies in this state, hempfest being the biggest by far. Thats in addition to a substanially larger population of stony people. If we tried and made a serious effort, we might be able to get an initative put before the electorate on a ballot. It would be simpler than having to rely on elected officials, who lets face it, are lazier than most wellfare recipients, and collect far more at the same time.
Anyone seriously thought about this. Think we could pull this off? What are the problems I'm not thinking of?5thHorseMan Reviewed by 5thHorseMan on . Hempfest should be about gathering signatures to get marijuana initiatives on the ballot every year until it passes. The cost of filing the initiative is not that much, but the task of gathering signatures is.
The problem here is we have been relying on movement heads that are making money off of prohibition.Norml represents lawyers that make money off of marijuana crimes. As much as $40,000 or a little as $10,000 per case. The same lawyers that advise Norml also advise the ASA and get grants from the MPP.In Seattle the ACLU is run by former criminal attorneys that specialized in pot cases, and all are connected to a prominent pot attorney in Seattle whom has managed to control all the non profits thru lawyer contributions and lawyer decision makers.
I have given you their names in previous posts, because I have gotten to know them all really well, and I know what they stand for.I know that the movement can not trust the non profit groups to act on our behalf. They are there at the top of the movement for one reason and one reason only.to advertise.Hempfest is not about a movement at all hempfest is about advertising.
The goal is to get exposure for your law firm, your pot clinic,or your pot club.Hempfest is big business. These people make enough to buy real estate for crying out loud. They are not going to slay the evil demons that stand against us,they are part of the same industry that thrives off of prohibition.
The fact is prohibition offers America a chance to make big bucks if you are willing to take the risk. Those most able to take the risk reap huge rewards for selling illegal goods at gold like prices prosper.Law Enforcement does not want to see it end because it is a living wage job that has very little risk.
Understand this the ACLU,Norml,ASA,MPP or any other non profit group will work against you behind the scenes to keep the current system in tact. How do they do this..Thru the legislature. The ACLU has many card carrying members in powerful key positions in the state legislature.
Adam Kline,Kohl Welles ,Roger Goodman to name a few. They are on the same side as law enforcement. They do what it takes to make it apppear as though they will take action but have no intention of following thru. That is why it took an initiative to get the MMJ law done.
The MMJ law was written by people that wanted to create work for lawyers. They purposely did not sort out the issues of supply and knew that an affirmative defense would allow a swarm of court cases to determine if people were legal or not.Listen to Allison Chin Holcomb in the last henpfest, she wants lawyers and judges to sort it out.

This panel personifies the movement ..advertising.
The sooner we realize that the movement heads are not going to do what needs to be done, the sooner the rest of us can unite to take control of the process.

I agree with you to a certain extent. No matter what the cause the motivating factor always seems to be the money. But also without those orginizations we probably still wouldn't have MMJ. I still think though we could have a grass roots intiative put on the ballot to legalize all cannabis and hemp. I wouldn't expect it to pass the first time but with dedication I think we could eventually do it. What it really takes is 1 or 2 local people with name recognition to be the figure heads for the drive.
You will never be able to seperate the money making part of these programs. State and federal are just pissed off because there are vast sums of money being made and they're to stupid to get on the money train.
