Setup fell, bent 70% of stems
Titles explains it. I'm curious whether or not stems that have been severely bent can repair and continue growing. The setup fell and bent most stems for an unknown about of time. If I had to guess 30 minutes. Burnt leaves I can handle, but how resilient will the ladies be? No stems have been severed but most of them have been bent pretty severely that they obviously can't stand up straight anymore......what are my options?:wtf:

A friend of mine would just stake it with Bamboo Skewers....the kind you use for Shish Kabobs....and it worked out fine

Honestly, I can't take pics of the disaster. It's too hard to even think about it. Using CFLs so the burnt'ness isn't as bad as I'd think it would be. So if I stake them up it should be all right? I mean it's a terrible sight to see your ladies laying down instead of up.
they bent about 60% of the way up so I hope it will be all right.
Anyone have a similar experience?
And if I didn't stake them up, what would be the negative effects if I left them laying horizontal? In other words, just kept them bent?

I've broken lots of stems (professional clumsy-ass :wtf
... quickly dipped them in water, and scotch-taped them back together, removed tape after a week, or so ... no probs ... BUT, watch for bent stems, that kink, and crease ... that shuts off the stem's 'flow' ... just like kinking a hose ... not good, try to get them round again, if severely bent ... she should be OK ... don't fert for a couple extra days, (helps her put out roots, and draw up nutrients) ...

Thanks for the responses :stoned: It's good to know people have been there done that (hopefully not to this extent). I used the scotch tape and it seems to work. I have maybe 4 weeks left so We'll just ride it out, hopefully.
Now my routine check ups will have to consist of looking for nanners probably.

Have you ever bent them to the extent of them not recovering? And how many weeks could this add if they do withstand it?

Give them about a week to 2, They will be fine.
You shouldnt use scotch tape for a super long time.
What Id do is go brake a nice little branch off tree, And put it down deep in the soil, (Not to brake any roots) and prop the plant on the twigg. But be carefull when doing that you can bring in mites and stuff so It could be a bad idea.
Just use your imagination and you can think of something.
Refrain from handling the plant alott though (She sounds pretty stressed as it is).
