I'm a beginner who needs some stuff double-checked!
Hello there! For the past couple of days I've been browsing through these forums and trying to enhance my knowledge regarding outdoor growing but I still have a few questions I was hoping you guys could help me out with!
1) I live in Southern California (Orange County) and was wondering when the best time to start would be. I'm thinking maybe to start germinating the seeds in the middle of next month when Spring begins but I'm not sure. Also when can I expect to harvest?
2) Would "Earthgro Steer Manure Blend"soil work or would I have to add extra stuff to it? I plan on dumping them in pots and then planting the seed in them.
3) How many seeds should I plant if I just want to yield like a quarter/half pound of bud? I know there's only a 50/50 chance that the plant will come out as female but would something like 5 seeds be enough?
4) Would I have to buy different types of nutrients or will one formula work?
Sorry if these questions are kind of basic it's just that I want everything to go 100% smoothly and have a good experience for my 1st grow!aaronz Reviewed by aaronz on . 5 seeds should be a good start to see how you do. It depends on what strain you have but potentially if a plant does well you could end up with up to 2 lbs of bud.
Nutrients are kind of a crap shoot. You're going to want something to get max yeild out of them but so many of these nutes are overpriced and don't really work as advertized. Some nutes to look into, fish fertilizer, bone meal, blood meal, molasses and others. I would nute light your first time to get your feet wet.

id start out by reading a simple non complex cheap way to get started guide preferably the one that I wrote should get you started for little investment and cover most of your questions. Plant way more than 5 seeds
