A Course in Miracles
Has anyone actually read "A Course in Miracles?" For me, it helped to bridge the 2000 year gap of Biblical teachings into a contemporary understanding of my higher Self. I would highly recommend it. Even if your an atheist, it has a lot of useful wisdom. Thanks, MH

I would recommend watching Religulous with Bill Maher. Maybe get a different perspective of what religion is.

I haven't seen it. My brother and I were going to see it when we were camping last fall in the smokies. We never did. I love Bill Maher, even if I don't always agree with him. He is funny and thought provoking. I will check it out, thanks. MH

A Course in Miracles
A Course in Miracles is not a religion. Its a course that unites psychology and spirituality. It has a main body text that discusses things like egotism and professes that God is loving, not hateful and pursecutory and that we are here in this world by our own choice to follow our desires and bask in pleasures. It does not condemn this free choice but illustrates the ego wants to kill God and be god itself. Not only kill God but kill the egos host, meaning you and I is its goal.
The book also has a workbook for students. These are daily devotions as Jesus emphasizes the need for "mind training" to help us see things a different way that is empowering.
Some people who have never even picked the book up assailed it as "brain washing." They refer to some neocon website that does a hack job on it but none of it is valid in my experience.
I have read this book through and through, by choice. According to critics, I must be brain washed then. So I guess that means my mind is not my own and I can't make any decisions for myself. That is such bullshit. I would expect bullshit like that from a neoconservative website, but I always figured cannabis users to be free thinkers who aren't afraid of what others say but make up there own mind by reading it themselves. Here are a couple of links if your interested.
Jesus Is Speaking ~ I LOVE YOU.

A Course in Miracles
The fact that A Course in Miracles is believed by some to be a CIA plot is worthy of mention. Here is an article in the Conspiracy Forum:
http://boards.cannabis.com/conspirac...d-control.html
Of course, nobody that is the victim of mind control is aware of it while they are brainwashed. They will deny it, and defend the very people who were involved in doing it to them.

That means you could be brainwashed to my friend, according to your logic. MH

Study quantum entanglement, study psychology (Frued, Jung...) study astronomy and study ancient history, study Kabalah (and no, I'm not a Jew). The course is consistent with all of this including the Bible (without the guilt and all the begats and begots...) Study eastern philosophies and Buddah, also consistent with the course. Study Heisenberg, Einstein, Joseph Cambell. I'm no idiot.
Study anything and discuss, but please don't fear monger when you don't know what your talking about. How could you know if you see threats and conspiracies everywhere and you close your mind? Peace, MH.

Thank you for that video, I would have posted that myself but I don't know how. What she talks about is the core of the the book which states
"Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists, herein lies the Peace of God."
In a nutshell she is talking about distinguishing between the world our ego created which is centered around "whats in it for me" (the world of illusions, degrees of sin and dichotomy) as opposed to God's reality, the loving thought behind creation which is we are all one in Truth and should love each other as ourselves. The ego created the idea of "sin" as we know it today. The term originally came from Aramaic which means "to miss the mark" (an archery term) or to miss the point. The ego believes in sin, death, pain and suffering and needs these things so that your true Self will believe in the ego rather than God. ACIM also teaches that there is nothing outside of yourSelf, but remember, its definition of the Self includes all your brothers and sisters and everything you see as One but it needs Atonement.
I admit I still struggle with this stuff sometimes. I let others upset me and I still sometimes get fearful and angry, but a lot lot less than I used to. This is normal of course. Its a journey, not yet at the destination which is no fear, only love. Peace to you, MH
