Becoming a patient in MT?
I recently became a caregiver, and I have information for anyone who is interested in becoming a patient in Montana. If you need help finding a referral or are in need of a caregiver post here and I will do what I can to help you.

Becoming a patient in MT?
Where are you located in MT? how do you become a caregiver there? My permanent address is there. While I most definitely do not have the capability or resources currently, I would still love to know what it takes to be one.

Helena Area, You?
All you have to do to become a caregiver is find a patient that puts you down on their state registration, which is the document that the doctor signs that recomends the patient. Once they have sent in their registration the state sends out a card to the care giver with the patients name and caregivers name on it, and the patient gets their own card with their name and their caregivers name on it. As of now (there is a bill in the house on March 20th that would change this) a patient can only get his medical marijuana from the care giver listed.
If you want to know anything more about the new bill and its specifics search for MT Legislature HB 236 it has a bunch of changes for the medical law that would really help patients and caregivers.
Hope that helped

Becoming a patient in MT?
I live in North Dakota, about 60 miles from Montana (jkalb42, I know where Sidney is, been there MANY times to play hockey growing up).
I am thinking very seriously about moving to become a patient. If I make the move I want to be sure that I can become a patient. I'm not HIV positive and I don't have cancer, but I can have back pain. It's severity depends on how difficult it is to get a card.
Can I get a real idea of who gets accepted or denied (if any?).
If we can't talk candidly here would someone please email me? [email protected]
Thanks in advance.

If you have a records of severe or chronic back pain there are a couple of options that should be guaranteed. It really is just dependant on if you have adequeate documentation.
