I'm not too experienced in cloning yet, but i've tried a couple ways myself. The first way i tried was to get small paper square pot things (about 1x1x1.5), the ones that roots will grow through and you can plant them directly into a bigger pot, fill them with jiffy seedling mix, water them and let them go for a week or two.

the second thing i tried is jiffy peat pellets. let them expand in water, pop your cutting into them, and youre done. well, almost that easy. on my second batch of these, i had a mold problem. it works better, i've since read, to squeeze a lot of the water out of them before putting your cutting in. since peat has pretty good water retention properties, this is necessary so the roots will have to grow outward to search for more water instead of having a steady supply all around with no work having to be done. the first batch of these i did sat for 2 weeks with no visible root system coming out of the pellet. i opened them up to see that there was, indeed, roots, but they were only 1/4" in length. i know people have had good success with these, but they just haven't worked out for me yet. i took another batch of 10 a few days ago, remembering to squeeze some water out and to not over spray under the humidity dome (which can also lead to moldy pellets). we'll see how these go.

The small pots seemed to work a lot better for me, with new 1/2" to 1-1/2" roots after 1-2 weeks. i think that maybe the peat pellets are too dense for brand new roots to penetrate quickly and easily, but someone who has had success with the pellets, please give me a tutorial lol. i have not given up on them, but until i know the best way to use them, i'll be sticking to the first method.

also, i subscribed to a thread that has directions and pictures of the results for a cool DIY bubble cloner, similar to what puffzter already posted. here is the link.
