SAMHSA (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration) is the Federal regulatory branch of the US Department of Health & Human Services. Among other responsibilities, theyre in charge of looking over the operations of all certified labs practicing in the US. The labs are bound by regulations and protocols mandated by SAMHSA. The US Dept of Transportation also has regulations which, for the most part, are derived from SAMHSA.

Under the regulations set by both SAMHSA and the DOT, the labs can only test for drug metabolites, and perform validity checks of creatinine, pH, specific gravity, certain oxidants, and excessive nitrites. As long as your synthetic is not expired and had been stored properly, it will pass all of the validity checks permitted by the Agencies.
