I haven't really read through all the posts, but I think cutting the lady off from her feeding tube is horrible and barbaric. What I don't understand is how the US makes sure that convicts on death-row die as painlessly as possible (i.e. lethal injection) while this poor lady has to starve to death, which could take as long as 2 weeks. This is a freaking outrage.

I'm all for a person having the right to die, but doing it this way is nothing short of torture, and no human being, conscious or not, should have to suffer through such a horrible death. I'd rather somebody stuff a pillow in her face than starving her.

By the way, one note of the pronunciation of the name. It's Italian, and it's not pronounced "SHAIVO" like everyone says, it's actually pronounced "SKEEAVO". Incidentally, it's the Italian word for slave... But that's just me, I'm really anal-retentive when it comes to pronunciation of words...
