Government arseholes haven't got a clue what they're doing...
Right, I don't see it getting legalized in the United States any time in the next few decades. The only reason it's illegal worldwide is because Harry Anslinger used America's influence in the United Nations to coerce over a hundred countries to consolidate their drug policies into one pretty much dictated by America. America has been at the front of the war on drugs, going so far as to violate other nations' sovereignties (meanwhile the CIA continues to play an active role in the international drug trade...). The govenment has more than enough information at its disposal to determine that cannabis is far less harmful than either alcohol or tobacco, and politicians either ignore it for the sake of not tearing apart their pre-existing beliefs or because most people wouldn't stand for it and they'd lose votes.
The system doesn't allow serious challenges to long-standing policies like cannabis prohibition. The goverment isn't going to do anything because the people don't seem to want it; the propaganda campaigns have been overall quite successful in swaying the gullible masses. And the people aren't going to do anything because the government has imposed such strict policies and stigmas on the activity that practically no one is courageous enough to publicly admit to having tried pot, much less advocate its legalization.

Resuscitate the Psychedelic Revolution.
We need chemists, then we pick up where Albert Hoffman, Alexander (and Ann) Shulgin, Abbie Hofmann and Timothy Leary left off and show the government whose boss.

The Irony is a good but an "old" cultivation guide for "indian hemp" was written by none other than George Washington..Wonder why he wrote that the females are the ones to keep....(for all those who think it was "just hemp" he was talking about)

Well, back then they didn't have "industrial hemp" that was bred not to have THC in it.

I will second these remarks! Our government is the most hypocritcal in the world.
"Don't lie to us. Tell us you have weed."
While we're over here going,
"....you lie about us on a daily basis, and make illegal to possess what we think came from God, and should be allowed to use recreationally."
I don't know if I got my point across or not. I'm apologize. This is my first time smoking in 8 days, and during those 8 days I worked out every day. So, I'm so completely ripped right now, it's not even funny. (actually, everything is right now). I'm listening to L Arena from Kill Bill Vol. 2's soundtrack, and it's the greatest thing ever. Sorta Mexican like. ...oh god....I'm rambling....
Anyway....suffcie it to say, I'm so screwed up right now, the screen and my fingers are the only things I can really make out right now. It's all such a blur. I'm glad I have the typing record....
I HATE THE UNITED STATES OF HYPOCRISY! (in that aspect....)Life is a lie I shall conquer...
...protect me from my friends, I can take care of my enemies...

^Haha, yeah man! Let's hear it for posting on this board while baked!
Anyways, I'm not quite sure whether or not America will legalize it. I know Canada won't because our government is hungry for American support. I agree that their were many racial issues surrounding its criminilization (particularly hispanics and blacks). But, I also have to say that their are other factors surrounding the fact that its STILL illegal.
1. The Christian Right hate anything fun.
2. Its a useful tool in suppressing minorities and the youth.
3. It would mean admitting they lost the drug war.
4. Hemp clothing could displace the big powerful textile corporations.
5. Its a great thing to scare the American public with in order for them to coerce them into giving the Government money.
Yay for being messed up!

Yeh it really pisses me off, ignorant bastards. Shows you how much they know, thinking of reclassifying cannabis twice within the space of a couple of years.. what kind of message is that giving out ?
