Government arseholes haven't got a clue what they're doing...

I was watching the news this morning and they're thinking about reclassifying cannabis from class C back up to class B. There's no way cannabis qualifies for class B, it will be up there with amphetamines for christ sake WTF?!
Some stupid bitch was being interviewed and she was saying that she agrees with the reclassification because somebody she knows who smoked cannabis has been diagnosed with a schizophrenic-like illness. She immediately blamed cannabis. And also said stuff like "cannabis leads to heroin" and the usual bullshit. I felt like putting my foot through the TV.
They were also reading out letters/e-mails sent in by the public and they surprisingly read out the ones which were pro cannabis like - "alcohol is the drug that should be reclassified, it's far more dangerous" and "I know people who've smoked cannabis for over 30 years and there's nothing wrong with their minds". The thing that pisses me off is the fact that the people who are trying to keep cananbis ilegal don't know fuck all about the drug, they probably don't even know what it looks like.
The cannabis "scene" in my eyes is a group of friendly people all having a smoke together, no fighting or wrecking the place etc., the alcohol scene is a bunch of degenerate morons getting blind drunk and slamming glasses into each others faces, pushing the emergency services to their limits and often beyond it; I ask you this- which is the most harmful? which is the most damaging to people's health and society? How can the government not see it?
Lets say that alcohol was suddenly replaced with cannabis, everyone who drinks smoked cannabis instead, all the pubs turned into cannabis cafe-like places. There would be almost no violence whatsoever, the hospitals wouldn't be filled beyond capacity by people getting their faces stitched back together every weekend. Who the hell wants to fight when they're stoned?
I know everyone's heard all this shit before but I just thought I'd post it anyway.

P.S- Don't get me wrong about my views on alcohol, I like a drink myself but I can handle it unlike some people. I'm not a trouble-maker, I don't go around starting fights.

still better than the shit we have to deal with here in america, most times if a cop finds weed on you he acts like you just murdered a 5 year old down syndrom baby then ate it.

    i see it like this:
the government, at least the US government newayz, will never legalize weed. this is bekause stereotypikally it is a "blakk" thang to do. the government throughout its history has been prowhite anti everything else. they show it again throughout history. so look at it this way, if weeds legalized, blakks, mexikans, all of us, would be making money. wed be generating inkome in our kommunities. but if its illegal we kant do that. so if they kontinue to give us kheap alkohal we will kontinue to kill ourselves. or at least thats how i see it. its all a prowhite konspirasy, if the white government kan get us, the "minorities", to go out, and kill eakhother over drug territory, then they have just that mukh power. if weed was legal, there wouldnt be these gangs fighting over drug turf kause you kould just go to the store and buy some. yeah im ramblin so imma stop talkin. damn after rereadin that it sounds like im anti white, i would like to state i am not advokating violense or nething anti white

^naw that aint anti-white, its anti-goverment, it just happens most in goverment are white. they wanna get re-elected, so rather than having fair drug laws they'd rather throw a disproportionate number of minorities in jail for drug offences to make the middle class (again mostly white) feel safer, most of the white middle class dont want minorities moving into the suburbs, going to their kids school, generally making them feel 'uncomfortable'. of course theres not much open racism, theres the sutble kind, lock 1 in 10 black men in prison and a similar number of hispanics, most for non-violent drug crimes.

that in combonation with goverment protecting pharmacutical companies AND THE TOBBACCO AND ALCOHOL INDUSTRIES makes me think it will never be legal in america.

And why does the government protect the pharmaceuticals, tobacco and alcohol industry bcos it taxes a large proportion in these industries, greedy bastards always taking advantage of our ignorant society!

I don't see America legalizing even 20 years down the road.

Some private companies are moving to test their employees for tobacco. Some make not smoking a condition of your employment. Police now authorized to use a drug dog without probable cause in traffic stops.

This is a couple of many examples of decreasing privacy of your life. Now people want to know more about what occurs in your private life. Disturbing yes. At least the laws in UK are reasonable and are still moving in a progressive direction. Meanwhile, the US is going backwards, heading to the days before the 1970 CSA. America has a neo-conservative movement: right wing moral ideology with left wing authotarian controls. The way I see legalization happening is through major funding and tax issues years down the road, which may happen starting under Bush.

that is so true, i feel like we been going backwards nothing good is happening just more bullshit
On the waydown they saw a lot they don\'t remember
and if you asked them how, they couldn\'t say how they got there
and if you want them now you could just pull on the lever
and say, \"I\'m hung up on gravity.\"
you move your mouth and you start to talk
you close your eyes and then lose the thought
what\'s mine is mine and what\'s yours you probably got
    and we all fall.
