how am i doing?

here are some pictures of my plant at about a month
its almost a foot tall
but the leaves at the bottom are turning yellow and falling off.
is this normal?

also any suggestions you may have would be great.
this is my first time growing. i hope its a female

Not good my friend. At this rate, you will be lucky to yield 1 gram of bud, which might get you high if you are really lucky. The fact that it is still alive means there might be some hope in you after all...

What do you mean by plant light? There are loads of types, some are suitable for veg growth and some for flowering. Some HID, some CFL, some LED....

As Bigtopsfinn said, start reading because there is a lot to learn... you will need to understand things from lighting, nutrients, ventilation, light cycles etc etc. You need to do some research for yourself, and this site has all the answers (nearly), you just need to search for it!

At a foot tall it should be much bushier, judging by the leaves it is not sativa dominent so should look something like the pic below, which is my current grow when it was about a foot tall.

I wouldn't get your hopes up with this one, but keep it around if you want to practice with it. It's not like it's taking up a lot of space...

Don't sprout those seeds until you get things together a little better (especially on the lighting side) The "El Cheap Guide for Lighting" is a sticky in the indoor lighting section, a must read. Simple Noob Instructions for growin da dankness, in the basic growing section, is also a must read (along with growroom setup within that thread).
