For the first 2-3 weeks: I use T-12 floro tube shop lights (6500k)..2 inches above the tops...no heat...no burn...with T12's

...after that...they need all the strong light you can give them. HID light is best; or surround them with CFL's.

I have read that some people make it with less, but the strongest lights i can get are 240W Daylight(6400K) and a total of 2400 lumens. Wanted to place two of those, which would be 4800lumens.
