okay I'm not a super experienced pro or nothing but i cant tell you my opinion through my own trial and error. First when looking at soil I've used miracle grow before and still got decent bud. So if you can't get to a hydroponics store or a garden store for some better soil (like fox farm ocean forest, my fav) you can always use the miracle grow... i never understood why is was said to be bad to use. now that i think about it maybe because miracle grow has nurtures in the soil the could burn your babies, so if you flush well it should be straight.

As far as the light there a thing about that somewhere in the FAQ. I've been told that you should have a 3:1 ratio (3 lights per plant). Try to look for the kelvin rating 6500 for veg and 2700 for flower. If your trying to keep it low budget you should be okay it'll probably cost you somewhere under 50 bucks, depending on how many plants you have.

As far as the nutrients/fertilizers if you can't make it to a hydroponics store or garden store anywhere, then i don't have an answer sorry,

good luck, happy growing!

If you need any reference or anything to look at for help check out my first grow log in my sig....

magiccity445 Reviewed by magiccity445 on . May be starting a grow, need advice I'm thinking of starting a small grow, strictly for personal use.. (Heavy, daily smoker). I'm probably going to have anywhere from 2-4 plants. I'm not sure on the amount of lighting I should have.. I went down to the local Home Depot today and saw a couple of 150W CFLs for $10 each. Would one of those per plant be alright? I'm on a low budget, and have no interest in purchasing HPS bulbs, or setting up ventilation ducts. For ventilation, I imagine I'm just going to keep the window in Rating: 5
