Shov's Grow Log 2/2009
Premier Page.
I've had a few logs here in the last couple of seasons. I learn a lot by research and a lot by people on this site chiming in. I've gotten some better ideas about keeping a log or journal too. In the past I kept a half assed (stoner) sheet of papers called 'grow journals'. What was on the grow log wasn't in the journal, and vice versa. This will be no different I'm guessing, but I'm going to try to include stuff in the grow log like feeding menus and schedules,LST or cropping schedule (w/pics), lighting and transplanting details. Thank you.

Soaking ten Blueberry Seeds (Dutch Passion), ten Mazar seeds (Serious), and five Super Silver Haze (Serious) in bottle water in papertowels, in sandwich bags, in a tin box, on top if my cable modem (78-82 ºF).
I set up a 4' shoplight w/5000K cool white lamps. I filled two dozen pots of assorted sizes, 4"-5" with my potting soil mix. Although I won't plant the seeds today I watered the dry potting soil in with a solution of Root 66 (1-1-1from Technaflora BC).
Shalom,

Hey Shov,
Speaking for myself and surely our fellow cancom buddies, your grow logs are always interesting and fulfilling. I have yet to be unsatisfied following along. But with this somewhat 'new' journal info and better understanding of the entire grow with maybe more details of: shedules/pics/progress definitely intrigues me that much more. Looking forward to this. Subscribed! take care.

This morning I planted the beans in their pots, which I had pre-watered a few days ago to get the soil 'active'. Most of the beans had cracked, a few had 5mm or better root. I put them in the soil, root down of course and watered them in. I covered the 6" x 40" row of pots with plastic wrap to keep from drying out. A 4' (2) tube shop light with 5000K lamps was set about 2-3 inches above the pots and I used cardboard to enclose everything to keep the light from the flowering plants. The shop light will run 24 hrs for now. Somehow I lost a Blueberry bean. Probably put two into one pot somehow.

Too bad I can't put them out on the sunporch with the kitchen herbs I'm trying to sprout. The soil gets some wrm behind them glass windows, even with 20ºF outside it's 80s on the porch.

OK, let's start counting time on 3/1. My last grow I flipped on 1/1 to make it easier to keep track of time in my head.
Here's the lineup. I'e got 8/9 Blueberry popped, A few Mazar and two or three SSH. It is difficult to see the tiniest sprouts in the photo.

Blueberry have all popped 9/9
Mazar, not so good, three/10. I hope for two females (crosses fingers and toes)
Super Silver Haze are 4/5, there seedlings are as tiny and fragile looking as the seeds were.
They are under a 4', two tube T-8 shop light. temperature, 70º. I am anxious to put them under the brighter MH light and fan as soon as I can.
