Shov's Grow Log 2/2009
thanks
I'll keep logs or updates here as long as the site works ok. It will be a couple of generations before a solid mother can be selected. I'm even more exicited about the planned Z10 x bubblegum hybrid and a blueberry x bubblegum hybrid. And I still have a Neville's Haze 18 pack on deck. So much to do, and people look at me crazy when I turn down their cuts. I grow in a one square meter area. :stoned:
As far as initial smoke reports on the popcorn buds, things are very good.
SSH - tastes like good old mexican sinsemilla 'Gold'. Nice crazy buzz.
Blueberry - very stoney and long lasting. One of the phenos is like a double dose of blueberry stoney goodness and sweet stickyness.
Mazar - Very decent rich smoke. Heavy stoney buzz.

Two and a half oz of Super Silver Haze
[attachment=o224424]
Five oz of Blueberry
[attachment=o224425]
Four and a half oz of Mazar
[attachment=o224426]
Mazar is pretty much all cured and is a very nice tasting smoke with a heavy couch-lock stone. The Blueberry is not cured yet but samples are tasty and probably stonier than the Mazar and has a good head buzz. The SSH is still curing also and I've not smoked it but once. I'm psyched though as the taste is very exotic and it seems to have a trippy buzz.

Shov - WOW! It's been awhile since I've been here, and now I see the incredible haul from your plants! That has to be nice - having jars of those fine genetics just calling your name, and having the pleasure of selecting a different one each time - maybe even mixing some together.
I really can't wait for the crosses you've made. Those really have some sweet potential!
Keep up the always outstanding work, my friend!

Those buds sure do look sweet and tasty! From your descriptions they sound pretty dang good too! Have you started beans for your Z10 x Bubblegum cross? Where does the Z10 come from - I haven't heard of it before?
I hope all's well - have to run to lunch now - munchies from viewing your post!

Hey, King. How you be?
I hope to pollenate the Z10 and a Blueberry with Bubblegum pollen TOMORROW. Then it will have to wait a month for seeds to ripen.
The Z-10 came from an uncontrolled pollenation of Afghani type Indica (bag seed) with either Bubblegum or Afghani Dream x BOG Medley or selfed. The name "Z-10" is from the 13 females grown out, each numbered from 1-13. This hybrid is identical to my Bubblegum strain so I wanted to cross back to the BG for hybrid vigor and to create a new Bubblegum type strain, which is one of our all time favorites around here. My brother grew a couple of very nice BG this past Spring and it is as good or better than his Cranberry Kush x Trainwreck, Da Purps or the Blueberry we both grew out.
If and when I do get a seeds from these two Z-10 I will probably grow them out and breed select males and females. I will eventually have to come up with a name for this hybrid. The most distinguishing trait of the Z-10 (and this BG strain) is it's odor. To me it smells like sweet, floral hotel soap or a sachet used to keep yer granny's underwear drawer stinkin' pretty. But, I doubt if I'll give it a frilly, girly name. I'm stcuk at this point, but no rush...
