First indoor grow little experience

This will be my first indoor grow. i started a hydro tank w/o reading much of anything and found it to be A LOT harder then i originally thought. i have a small plant that was started in the hydro tank and is still alive. i have been thinking of just moving it to soil. i have grown outdoors once before. they were 3/4 of the way grown and my neighbor found them and destroyed them.

any way to grow indoors what kind of lighting do i need. right now i have a Coral Grow light my friend gave me. it looks like a plain florescent light to me. will this work? if not can i use one of the lights that are used on tanks with lizards in them? is there anything else i will need?

i know a lot less about indoors then i thought can someone give me some tips or provide a site with good instructions?
