Low Budget CFL Question
Hey all,
I'll start by saying that im on an exceedingly low budget; Ive grown several times before, mostly outdoor, but ive also had a few CFL indoor ventures.
I don't mind if I have a relatively low yield, and I would like to know whether these lights would be suitable for growing:
Osram Halolux GLS Energy Saving BC 42w CFL - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys
I realise that the wattage and lumen output is relatively low, However in my last grow I successfully grew and flowered 2 plants under two 20w CFL's. My question is simply: Would these bulbs work?
Thanks in advance.Africanherbsman Reviewed by Africanherbsman on . Low Budget CFL Question
Yeah they will work, low K number means they are better for flowering, 6500K+ is better for veg... Maybe get some socket splitters, and you could double your light...

Low Budget CFL Question
yeah, they'll work. but that fact is completely obsolete if you're trying for low-budget.
thats gotta be one of the worst deals i've ever seen. i have a CFL that uses 1/2 the wattage, and is nearly 3x as bright. i got a 2-pack for $8. this is seriously the best advice i can give: IF YOU'RE GOING LOW-BUDGET, SHOP AROUND TO SHOP SMART.
these are the bulbs i was referencing. i got them locally but the price is comparable. they're 5000k, good for clone and veg.

Low Budget CFL Question
Philips, 42w 6500k 15$ each, but you'll be rewarded at the end of your grow! (for veg)
Noma, 40w 2700k 11$ each, same as above! (for flower)
Take a look at my grow, I got 18 CFLs in there!!!
Edit, 26watters are cheaper and is more efficient than 40watters...

Low Budget CFL Question
Most cfls that are 40 watts or higher are 2700k.
Ones that are like 26 watts, Can be 2700k/5600k.
Go to a local electric appliance store, And talk to someone who knows what there doing.
If you have like 4 cfls, 5600k, It will be good for vegg.
And 4 2700k 40 watts of higher, For flowering.
Simple enough if you can go that.
