Poll: Obama More Revered Than Jesus Christ

ROCHESTER, N.Y. â?? Americans named President Obama as their No. 1 hero, followed by Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King, in a new Harris poll.

Others in the top 10, in descending order, were Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, Chesley Sullenberger and Mother Teresa.

People were asked whom they admired enough to call their heroes. Those surveyed were not shown a list of people to choose from. The Harris Poll was conducted online among a sample of 2,634 U.S. adults by Harris Interactive.

This question was first asked in a Harris Poll in 2001. In that survey Jesus Christ was the hero mentioned most often, followed by Martin Luther King, Colin Powell, John F. Kennedy and Mother Teresa.

first of all, everyone polled was definitely a liberal

those are the only people who have yet to realize that in his first 55 days in office, obama has TANKED our country

he's doing it on purpose so that you and me NEED government in our lives. the way it is now, i dont want a dime from any taxpayers, i work hard for what i have and i dont believe i should have to fund a total strangers un-successful lifestyle

obama is no hero. in 4 years he will be the man responsible for completely destroying america as we know it today and starting the United Socialist States of America

Reagan has to be the most overrated individual ever. Just his aged face and his sharpened smile make me want to take a mallet to him (were he alive). Bush...I'm not going to dignify that inclusion with a response. Whoever said the American people need some real heroes was dead on.

Sweedman...you don't want to pay a dime so poor children can be educated? You think they should be uneducated because of their parents' unsuccessful lifestyle? I see your points about how government seems to be getting more and more invasive, but really, socialistic Finland or Sweden are far more livable than the U.S. It's not about collectivization or the Party or something else reminiscient of the Soviet Union in the '30s...the kneejerk reactions really must be kept to a minimum. In Sweden the people tend to prosper instead of the CEOs, and you don't see many ghettos.

Dude, your logic is flawed in one simple area. You assume the majority of these people ejaculating at the sound of his voice are going to blame him for the collapse of our economy and federal takeover of much of the private sector. They will blame it on Bush, Limbaugh, or any other person they feel had at least a minor roll in decline. We live in a time of playing the victim. It's always someone else's fault. Not there own.
