    MG/Pre-Fert Soil Users: I gotta ?

I'm using flower potting soil in combination with vermiculite (about 1/5 vermiculite at least). The N-P-K values for the soil are: (N-100mg/l, P-60mg/l, K-400mg/l).

I just transplanted from 10L to 15L buckets yesterday, when do you think I could start to give them nutrients??? I give them water about once every 2.5-3 days, with a little run-off.

    MG/Pre-Fert Soil Users: I gotta ?

I'm guessing they're still in veg?
Depends on how mature the ladies are, as to how fast she'll go thru the nutes. Usually, a mature lady will exhaust the bulk of the nutes within about three weeks, but keep an eye on her, and see if she starts developing signs of defeciencies by week two. Once you do decide to start adding nutes, (Miracle Grow All Purpose?) start at half-strength, and watch for reaction. Increase dosage to full strength as the plant progresses, if there are no other health issues.

Which nutes are you going to use for flowering?

I was hoping to get your attention, Rusty:thumbsup:

Yes, they are still in veg, and there was quite a nice rootball in the 10L buckets. The soil is actually called Biolan Musta Multa (Biolan Black Soil), "an all-purpose soil for your home flowers" and it doesn't give any other nute values/ratios besides what I posted. I used something similar last time, but I used nutrients constantly (I was watering 1-2 times per day, not as much water though)

The nutes I have are Canna Terra Vega 3-1-4 (used a little bit, but stopped since transplanting), Canna Terra Flores 2-2-4 (from first day of flower until final flush), Plagron Green Sensation Top Activator 0-9-10 (for the last 4-6weeks before final flush).

Should be a few more days until I put it into flower, got more info in the two trainwreck's grow log in my sig. Thanks for the help!

Might want to re-think that strategy. Giving smaller ammounts more often, doesn't allow the water to penetrate deep enough to reach the lower root zones. I nute twice a week (mondays and thursdays) till I get a slight trickle of runoff, and during the winter I might not need additional water till the next scheduled day. During the summer, I often have to water (no nutes) daily as the moisture levels drop enough to justify it. (I flower in an outdoor shed, and I live in the desert where temps hit 115 f. and 8% humidity daily for months on end)

Since it's an organic blend, and organics are a longer-lasting nute source, likely the nutes will last a while. However, nutes already in the soil will still exhaust it's effectiveness within a couple/few weeks, requiring you to start adding fresh nutes at the lower dilutions. Wish I could help more than that, but it sounds like you are geting the idea.

Thanks Rusty. I've changed my feeding schedules this time around to once every 2-3 days with trickle. Also gave it full strength nutes for the first time today. I'll probably end up doing the nutes, nutes, then water schedule again...

I agree. I use a cheap moisture meter. 8 inch metal probe that has 3 readings: Wet-Moist-Dry. I water, when it's says DRY.
(at the bottom of the the pot)

Where'd you get it? Is it something from a hydro store, or just like home depot/walmart?

Yes. Any garden supply should have them. $5.

I put a one inch layer of vermiculite close to the bottom of my pots. It holds moisture and nute solution a little longer...so I need to know when that's gone. I water...water...water & nute...according to the meter. Works for me.

I usually Nute, water, water, but I actually have no schedule which is why one clone is dying from over fert right now in the 6th week of flower. Just flushed her yesterday, not too concerned for her though.
